The Opportunity


As VP of Product, you will be a strategic leader, visionary, team supervisor, and an advocate of an organization’s products. The primary goal of the VP of Product is to lead and facilitate the creation of products that deliver value to both customers and the business. 


The VP of Product brings the customer into the organization and considers the complete product experience. You will ensure that the entire company understands the vision and direction for the product. You will draw on a deep knowledge of their product and the industry to predict the future. You will be responsible to set the product and the company on a course to stay relevant and valuable. You will need to be a natural leader, problem solver, efficient, and motivated with deep experience in business agility and lean portfolio management. We hope this is you!

What You'll Do Day-to-Day


  • Leadership/Management

  • Excellent leadership skills to supervise and oversee the Product organization. This ensures that initiatives run smoothly across internal teams, customers, and stakeholders
  • Facilitate communication across the company (between engineers, designers, marketers, customer-facing teams, etc.)
  • Act as a supervisor to product leads who are responsible for delivery, UX, and marketing. Thus, you should also have extensive experience in managing and mobilizing cross-functional teams. 

  • Product Management

  • Manage the collective P&L’s for each of the product lines
  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept to cash across all product lines
  • Deeply understands the problems, needs, and desires of customers. Plan and own the product roadmap, product strategy, and stakeholder communication
  • Responsible for the “why” of the product and what to build next. Align the company around the overarching vision. When it comes to individual features and products, you ensure that they are in line with business objectives and make adjustments when necessary
  • Highly skilled and experienced in market-sensing. Drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through using research and data. Necessary to build excellent product experiences, identify proper positioning in the market
  • Oversee the teams Product research, Prototyping and A/B testing

  • Analysis and Reporting

  • Make objective, data-driven decisions
  • Define the metrics related to product performance and track them on an ongoing basis. Including: Revenue and profits, User activity and engagement within the product, Churn rate and retention
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics
  • Assess product development sprints and enhancement opportunities
  • Monitor product development sprints and evaluate results
  • Lead Product Marketing Managers to assess product mix and marketing strategy
  • Monitor and manage strategic marketing plans for each product or product lines

  • 15+ years of experience in product management and a high level of comfort in product marketing
  • 10+ years of experience working with Agile Methodology
  •  7+ years of experience in data analysis, extraction, data collection and management
  • 5+ years of experience in lean portfolio management
  • Strong business acumen and financial modelling skills
  • Solid technical understanding of web and native development
  • Extensive experience in writing epics and thinly sliced stories
  • First hand experience conducting market research, and building business cases that demonstrate market and financial viability
  • Familiarity with current trends in user experience best practices
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to understand and shape the big picture while excelling in delivery in an ambiguous context: Prioritize product needs in a clear and transparent way and Experience working in an agile environment 
  • Skilled at managing expectations with stakeholders Ensure product education across departments
  • Experience influencing change across an organization
  • Deeply cares about our values and has a constant eye for people dynamics

Bonus Points

  • Real estate expertise - knowing the landscape of the market, the major players, opportunities for disruption, opportunities for partnership, etc.
  • Insurance expertise - knowing the surety bond market as well as standard P&C products
  • Experience with leasing and property management software (eg. Yardi, MRI, OnSite) and integrations
