OVERVIEW

CR’s Internal Communications team leads the strategy that informs, engages, and inspires employees, fosters brand ambassadorship, and moves CR forward.  We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Internal Communications Program Manager to manage a comprehensive internal communications strategy at a pivotal moment in CR’s 90-year history. 

The Internal Communications Program Manager will lead the planning and delivery of enterprise communications across multiple channels, ensuring clear, consistent messaging aligned to CR’s strategy and priorities. Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, the ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of internal communications and change management as CR evolves. 

Success in this role depends on strong collaboration in a highly matrixed organization, with a clear understanding of when to lead, when to advise, and how to partner effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. 

This is a hybrid position. The successful candidate must reside within 75-miles of our Yonkers headquarters. You must also plan to be in the office at least 25 percent of the time to manage communications activities.  This position is not eligible for sponsorship or relocation assistance.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy.
  •  Collaborate with leaders as both a thought partner and strategic doer to deliver enterprise communications (Town Halls, meetings, organizational announcements, change communications, etc.), balancing when to act urgently and when to act deliberatively.
  • Coordinate communications in partnership with cross-functional teams (e.g., People & Culture, IT, Facilities) to ensure clarity and streamline delivery, taking ownership where appropriate and offering timely, actionable advice that facilitates independent execution.
  • Design and implement human-centered, multi-channel communication experiences and campaigns to ensure hybrid workforce is motivated and aligned.
  • Measure and analyze engagement data and employee feedback to assess effectiveness and continuously improve communications approach.
  • Complete training and professional development requirements in a timely manner.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have the degree. Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field is required.
  • You have the experience. A minimum of five to seven years of internal communications experience, with demonstrated success driving employee engagement and supporting organizational change is required. 
  • You know the tools of the trade. You have a strong understanding of internal communications best practices, digital platforms, and engagement tools, e.g, LumApps, Contact Monkey, Slack, Slido, and others
  • You are comfortable providing strategic communications counsel to cross-functional partners and engaging with senior management.

  • You act promptly and decisively to time sensitive communications matters.
  • You are a strong communicator with exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and project management skills and the ability to persuade and influence others

FAIR PAY AND A JUST WORKPLACE

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation.The target salary range for this position is $120K-$130K. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.  We have three locations: Yonkers, NY, Washington, DC and Colchester, CT. We are registered to do business in and can only hire from the following states and federal district: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Washington, DC.
