As a Software Engineering Program Manager, you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the various projects and programs within the software engineering department. Your role is to ensure alignment of software projects with the organization's strategic objectives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Program Planning and Execution: Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan. Lead and oversee the execution of the project tasks as defined in the project plan to achieve the project goals.

Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communication and working relationships with stakeholders and third parties/vendors. Provide regular and timely updates to stakeholders about progress, adjustments, and advancements.

Resource Allocation and Management: Determine and define project scope and objectives. Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans. Mitigate and manage issues, changes, and risks.

Quality Control: Ensure that all projects adhere to quality standards and that deliverables meet project requirements.

Reporting: Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement and report on project progress and changes.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or an MBA would be a plus. Certifications like PMP (Project Management Professional) are preferred.

Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on software development projects.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.), project management tools (like JIRA, Trello), and program management principles.

Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Other: Proven ability to solve problems creatively, strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
