The Project Engineer will design and manage energy efficiency projects, analyze data, conduct audits, and ensure project outcomes align with client goals.
Do you want to Engineer the Future of Energy Efficiency Projects?
Join Ecosystem and help transform how buildings consume energy. We modernize energy infrastructure in the built environment through bold engineering, heat electrification, and integrated project delivery. If you're a creative Project Design Engineer ready to bring innovative, sustainable infrastructure solutions to life - this is where your ideas make an impact!
Who We Are...
At Ecosystem, we believe we should be accountable for results. That’s why we've integrated engineering and construction, seeing our projects through from design concept to implementation and commissioning. And that's how we can efficiently solve complex energy challenges in the built environment.
Here are some of the projects we've been working on recently: San Diego Padres Stadium, Con Edison: Utility Thermal Energy Network; Museum of Arts and Design.
Why This Role Matters...
At Ecosystem, you won’t work on standard projects with off-the-shelf solutions. You’ll take on existing, energy-intensive, and complex buildings, designed at a time when energy was inexpensive. Every mandate is unique and requires critical thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness. You'll be involved in the development of energy performance projects, from audits to construction through to performance validation. Here, you won’t be handed a manual. We’ll tell you what the building needs to achieve, and you’ll have the freedom, resources, and toolbox to determine how to get there.
What You’ll Do...
- Participate in energy audits, data analysis, and custom solution design
- Develop energy-efficiency measures addressing client’s technical, financial, and environmental goals
- Conduct technical site surveys and contribute to the development of concepts, plans and specifications
- Manage energy and financial data, support the construction team, and ensure project outcomes are met throughout the project lifecycle
- Your professional development is an integral part of your role. At Ecosystem, you’re encouraged to learn, experiment, and think outside the box. We value boldness - where others wait for solutions to be proven, we prefer to be among the first to innovate.
Your Profile...
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or physics engineering
- 2 – 4 years of project design experience
- Ability to problem-solve and apply practical theory
- Strong ability to integrate expertise, intuition, and collaborative teamwork to achieve the end goal
- Strong verbal communication and writing skills, with the ability to draft reports, present proposals, and engage directly with stakeholders
What Ecosystem Offers...
- Competitive base salary (approximate range of $85,000–$105,000, depending on seniority and merit) benchmarked and reviewed annually
- Generous paid time off: 15 vacation days, 5 personal days, 10 public holidays, plus a week off to recharge during the end of year holidays.
- Comprehensive group insurance from day one (health, visual, dental, life insurance, AD&D) plus easy access to health support through Telemedicine and an Employee Assistance Program
- Employer contribution to a retirement savings plan.
- Comprehensive internal technical training and a strong network of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that provide mentorship and accelerate learning. Reimbursement program for external training and access to French and English group courses.
- People-first culture: we live our values through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Innovation, and Social Committees, and celebrate our shared success through company events like Ecofest.
Those who change the world don’t stop at recommendations - they make decisions and take action. That’s Ecosystem.
