Lead technical delivery of mid-to-large IT projects including analysis, system integration, infrastructure deployment, testing, documentation, and stakeholder management. Drive standardized QA, automation, and AI-native practices to improve consistency, speed, and project quality while coordinating vendors and cross-functional teams.
The Project Engineer serves as a technical delivery resource responsible for executing complex mid- to large-scale IT projects. This role collaborates closely with project engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with organizational standards and client expectations. The role emphasizes ownership of technical delivery, structured execution, and the use of AI and automation to improve efficiency, consistency, and overall project quality.
Project Delivery
- Execute complex project implementations with limited oversight.
- Lead technical analysis, solution implementation, system integration, and infrastructure deployment.
- Coordinate planning, testing, documentation, and deployment activities to ensure successful delivery.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Manage assigned tasks and ensure work is completed and formally closed out.
- Conduct discovery to define requirements and scope.
- Work with vendors, partners, and internal teams to support full lifecycle delivery.
Technical Leadership
- Act as a technical escalation point for project delivery challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and functional groups to design and implement solutions.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of technical documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes and technical quality.
Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management
- Gather technical and business requirements from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Act as a primary point of contact for project-related communication.
- Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder reviews.
- Manage client expectations and ensure alignment with agreed deliverables.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and technology providers.
Quality Assurance & Standards
- Contribute to structured QA processes across project delivery.
- Validate implementations against defined standards and requirements.
- Support development and refinement of QA checklists and validation methods.
- Promote consistency and repeatability across projects through standardized practices.
AI-Native & Automation Expectations
- Operate with an AI-native delivery model, integrating AI and automation tools throughout the project lifecycle.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate documentation creation, requirements analysis, and technical validation.
- Utilize automation frameworks, scripts, and orchestration tools to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of reusable automation playbooks that standardize common project tasks.
- Apply AI tools to analyze project environments, identify risks, and suggest remediation or optimization opportunities.
- Support integration between systems, APIs, and automation platforms to enable scalable and repeatable deployments.
- Maintain awareness of emerging AI and automation capabilities and apply them pragmatically while ensuring data security and governance standards.
Qualifications
- 3–6+ years of experience in project engineering, technical project delivery, or infrastructure roles.
- Experience delivering infrastructure, cloud, or IT transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, and enterprise environments including: Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune and endpoint management), Identity services including Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, DNS, Windows Server, Azure cloud architecture
- Virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, and Azure Virtual Desktop, Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Experience working in MSP or client-facing environments preferred.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2, etc.).
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
