Market Research Project Manager
Full-Time · Remote (EST or CST)
The Role
We're looking for a Market Research Project Manager to own client studies from kickoff to close — coordinating clients, internal teams, and recruiting resources to deliver high-quality qualitative research on time and on budget.
This is a role for someone who's spent time in a client-facing or account management environment and knows what it takes to keep a complex, people-driven process running smoothly. You're comfortable holding a client relationship, translating their needs into a clear plan, and keeping a team moving when the details get complicated.
This is not an IT, software, or technical project management role. Our projects involve recruiting real people for market research studies — think brand partnerships, consumer insights, healthcare research — not product builds or sprints.
If you've managed accounts, coordinated research, or kept a client deliverable from slipping through the cracks, you'll feel right at home.
What You’ll Do
Manage Client Studies End-to-End
- Own a portfolio of qualitative research studies simultaneously, serving as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the full research lifecycle.
- Define study scope with clients and the Project Director, and build a clear work plan that sequences everything from recruitment through final deliverables.
- Set the objectives and success measures for each project upfront so the whole team is aligned.
Coordinate People & Resources
- Partner with the Recruiting Operations Manager to staff each study appropriately with a small team of recruiters from start to finish.
- Brief everyone on the project — recruiters, support staff, external partners — so nothing falls through due to a communication gap.
- Collaborate across departments (Insights, Facilities, Marketing, Vendor Partners) to get the right resources in place at the right time.
Execute & Communicate
- Drive execution of the project plan, keeping documentation current and files organized throughout.
- Monitor progress and adjust as needed to keep deliverables on track.
- Maintain a clear communication cadence with clients and internal stakeholders so no one is ever in the dark.
Control & Close
- Keep project documentation, budgets, and financial records current and accurate throughout each study.
- Monitor costs against the approved budget and flag variances early.
- Evaluate project outcomes at close — on time, within budget, quality where it needs to be — and ensure clients feel great about the end product.
What We’re Looking For
You're likely a fit if your background includes:
- Account management, client services/client success, staffing management, market research coordination or research operations, marketing agency or research firm experience
Required:
- 2–3 years managing client-facing projects, accounts, or research studies in a professional services, agency, or research environment.
- Confident communicator — with clients, with your team, in writing and on calls.
- Highly organized — you're the person who already built the tracker before anyone asked.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and cloud-based file systems.
- Able to manage basic project budgets and financial documentation.
- Curious about new tools, including AI, and willing to adapt how you work as the industry evolves.
Nice to Have
- Experience in market research, consumer insights, healthcare research, or a research recruitment environment.
- Direct experience supporting brand clients or corporate research teams on qualitative studies.
- A four-year degree in marketing, communications, business, social sciences, or a related field (preferred, not required).
This job summary outlines primary responsibilities but is not intended to be all-inclusive. Duties may be modified or expanded to reflect business needs and the natural progression of the role.
