The Project Sourcing Leader is responsible for executing FORTNA’s sourcing and procurement strategy for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with the broader strategic sourcing initiatives led by the Global Commodity Managers. This role focuses on project execution, optimizing cost and delivery  across FORTNA’s projects and our supply base. Acting as a key liaison between Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, and Finance, the Project Sourcing Leader identifies sourcing opportunities, drives supplier performance, and ensures adherence to company policies and standards. The position plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing project-specific procurement strategies, overseeing supplier selection, achieving cost savings, negotiating contracts, mitigating risks, and managing overall supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the primary sourcing contact for assigned projects from initiation through completion. 

  • Coordinate with the Global Commodity Managers (GCM) to support and align strategic sourcing strategies with project procurement strategies to support business goals. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and align sourcing strategies. 

  • Participate in project meetings to report procurement status and resolve sourcing issues. 

  • Lead all Procurement activities on assigned projects. 

  • Lead RFx (RFI, RFQ, RFP) processes and facilitate supplier selection and negotiations. 

  • Manage purchase orders in accordance with project schedules, budgets, and delivery requirements. Expedite and escalate when required. 

  • Ensure procurement decisions reflect customer-specific standards (e.g., preferred brands, quality levels, documentation requirements) and contractual terms. 

  • Coordinate supplier communication and manage relationships throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Serve as the point of contact for escalations related to procurement or supplier issues. 

  • Implement risk mitigation plans and maintain continuity of supply.

  • Negotiate commercial terms including pricing, payment terms, and service levels. 

  • Deliver project cost reductions through executing sourcing processes such as negotiations and Request for Proposals (RFPs)and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance to validate the impact of projects and contract negotiations to the general ledger. 

  • Understand the project scope, BOMs (Bill of Materials), schedules, specific customer requirements and impact to the sourcing process during the project lifecycle. 

  • Partner with Legal and Project teams to draft and execute supplier agreements. 

  • Ensure all contracts align with company policy and mitigate risk exposure. 

  • Support the development and enhancement of sourcing processes, tools, and systems. 

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting through ERP or procurement platforms. 

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, ethics policies, and industry regulations.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, or procurement. 

  • Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems (INFOR LN, AX) 

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and suppliers 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally 

  • Experience with sourcing processes, supplier negotiations and contracts. 

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Products, Adobe, Power BI 

  • Strategic execution, problem-solving, time management, reporting, and analytical skills. 

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, PMP). 

  • Experience with global sourcing and supplier development. 

  • Background in manufacturing, logistics, or material handling sourcing. 

  • Experience in Material Handling industry. 

The base salary range for this role is $76,100 to $114,200.  This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
