Flatiron’s privacy and security programs are core to all aspects of the company’s business model, enterprise risk management, and day-to-day operations.

We are looking for an Associate to help support Flatiron’s privacy and information security programs. This role reports directly into the Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Information Security Officer. Successful candidates will be detailed-oriented, skilled in project support, and excited to support the generation of new knowledge that will accelerate research in oncology and meaningfully improve cancer treatments. Critical to the success of this role will be organization, communication skills, and resourcefulness required to support a dynamic team contributing to a large number of projects and initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate discussion and coordination among product managers and privacy stakeholders across the company through initiation of a Privacy Council.
  • Support the Privacy and Information Security programs with activity/assignment tracking and administrative organization (e.g., tracking outstanding requests, updating documentation, etc.).
  • Manage and track privacy and information security employee trainings and verifications of completion.
  • Help effectively scale the Privacy and Information Security programs by project managing various assessments and cross-functional projects.
  • Assist with PowerPoint presentation training development, including graphics/visual development for compliance-related trainings.
  • Establish a Data Governance Committee comprised of external and internal contributors.
  • Establish a committee of patient advocates and patients to provide input into company’s core activities and products.
  • Investigate and establish patient advocacy opportunities with a focus on ethical data use.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic achievement
  • Experience and significant comfort working with Excel and PowerPoint/Google Sheets and Google Slides
  • Experience creating and maintaining project documentation
  • Extremely detail-oriented, while maintaining big-picture vision
  • Strength in internal communication - both written and verbal
  • Experience managing projects from concept to execution - ability to incorporate learnings from previous projects to ensure continuous improvement
  • Excitement about working in a startup environment that requires constant adaptability and flexibility
  • Intellectually curious, with outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about our mission to improve healthcare through technology

  • Experience/background in bioethics
  • Proven interest in healthcare, clinical research and/or oncology
