About the Role:


Transfix is growing in exciting ways, and as we continue to grow our customer base, we know that keeping those customers happy from implementation forward will be key to our continued success. That’s why we are looking for a hands-on Business Process Project Manager to join our Implementation team, supporting our key customers: Shippers. This includes Fortune 500 organizations as well as mid-market organizations that rely on our technology and services to get goods to their customers and consumers. In this role, you’ll play an integral part in further developing and enhancing the Shipper (Customer) process. All aspects of your work will involve cross-functional project management and collaboration, where you’ll lead meetings focused on customer health and growth, and develop advanced processes, workflows and reporting to enable our employees to more quickly and deeply engage with customers, suppliers, and across internal teams.

Note: This role is a hybrid position, so we are prioritizing candidates located near our NYC Headquarters office and/or our Atlanta, GA office.

In this Role You Will:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of multiple projects from start to end, including driving post-mortem analysis to drive continuous improvement
  • Utilize a combination of logistics knowledge and project management skills to ensure a quality onboarding experience for all customers, from Fortune 500s to mid and small-sized organizations who rely on Transfix
  • Solve complex problems while meeting or beating project milestones and deadlines 
  • Proactively communicate key new customer needs and challenges with internal stakeholders to continuously improve the customer onboarding experience
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across all stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution
  • Assess, manage, resolve and escalate risks as appropriate and needed
  • Work on Cross-Functional Shipper-focused projects as you develop and implement new projects that will:
  • Increase efficiency for Operations teams while improving customer satisfaction. Create solutions for internal pain points & customer concerns
  • Increase revenue & margin
  • Identify opportunities for internal process improvements -- create best practice(s), new SOPs and provide training to increase adoption and understanding across all appropriate teams
  • Communicate consistent messaging with all internal teams to assure alignment with relevant organizational workflows
  • Capture lessons learned with continuous improvement always in mind!
  • Review existing programs, processes, documentation needs, internal controls, interdependencies and integration weaknesses to identify opportunities for standardization, improvement, and efficiencies
  • Perform SWOT, gap analysis, process and workflow mapping, automation of repeatable and non- value add tasks
  • Use influence to encourage adoption of best practice methodologies and celebrate early adopters to boost laggard participation
  • Challenge conventional thinking, offer unique perspectives and conceive innovative solutions to enhance the employee, customer and carrier experience, process improvement and internal controls

You're an Excellent Fit for this Role if You Bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in Project Management and/or Business Process experience within the Logistics/Transportation Operations industry.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • A solid understanding of project and process management principles, methods and techniques as well as best practices and methodologies to increase early adoption by customers
  • Innate critical thinking skills; you’re data-oriented and can easily tap into your strong analytical skills while paying attention to all details, big and small.
  • Expertise in Excel or Google Sheets and other reporting tools as they tell our story to stakeholders; TMS or integration experience is not required, but a plus
  • Strong organization, with a track record of delivering high-quality work on time and on target
  • An executional mindset - you take pride in delivering and thrive when you’re on a tight deadline
  • Collaboration skills; you can work with people at all levels and across many teams, understanding how to speak to various perspectives and needs to get things done
  • A proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment while demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit; you’re nimble, self-motivated, decisive when needed, and can adapt to change and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Transfix's NYC HQ is steps from the Oculus and Fulton Center, with access to subway train lines. We are close to tons of restaurants, shops. We are on the top floor so have wonderful light and breathtaking views, including a spectacular view of One World Trade from our outdoor rooftop deck!
