Newsela is an Instructional Content Platform that brings together engaging, accessible content with integrated assessments and insights to supercharge reading engagement and learning in every subject. Do you want to be part of the literacy movement? We are dedicated to our mission to unlock the written word for everyone. Five years since our launch, Newsela is in 90% of US schools, in addition to being in over 180 countries. The result has been more engaged readers—and engaged readers are better learners.

By joining the team as a project manager for one of our fastest growing products, you will work directly with schools and districts to optimize and increase the usage of Newsela’s custom collections offering. With your leadership, Newsela’s custom collections will stand out as the product of choice that saves teachers time in getting them and their students straight to the reading experience that they’re depending on to drive learning outcomes. Your success will be measured on your ability to simplify the journey and increase usage from the moment schools and districts decide to purchase a custom collection offering.

You will leverage your knowledge of classrooms, schools and Ed Tech tools while supplementing that knowledge by visiting the classrooms; where you can speak with teachers, school leaders, and technical leadership to help improve product usability. You would also work closely with internal product, and engineering teams to help design a frictionless product experience. You will be Newsela’s primary expert on our custom collections offering in any classroom, any school, any district, and on customizing Newsela’s integration capabilities to fit their unique needs.

 Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, implementation, monitoring, and usage of our custom collection offering.

  • Stay abreast of trends in a fast-moving market environment with continuously-shifting customer expectations and new opportunities and threats.
  • Translate ambiguous problems into structured, well-informed points of view and recommendations through strategic thinking, data analysis, and an insightful understanding of our schools, teachers, and students.
  • Partner closely with our Data team to gather and analyze data and report on various metrics.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in project/program management role
