About the Role

iCapital is looking to build its team in Canada, with a Senior Project Manager. We are currently engaging with several clients and expect to onboard more in the near future.  The project manager will collaborate with Enterprise Integration, Finance, Legal/Compliance, and other teams in the organization to streamline the onboarding process and resolve any localized operational issues. This individual will be a hands-on contributor with a strong understanding of Alternative Investments. This position is part of the Enterprise Solutions team and will be located in Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Canadian Business Head and the functional internal control teams at iCapital (Fund Finance, Operations, IT, Finance, Legal and Compliance and Fund Reporting) to support the growth of the Canadian business and the rollout of new Canadian access/feeder funds and distribution channels, or the accessing of offshore iCapital funds by Canadian channels, including:
    • Ensure there are appropriate (and codified) internal procedures in place re: the launch and administration of Canadian access funds (including with third party service providers such as Apex/Moneta, and KPMG). Guarantee there is a structured governance framework to drive consistent project execution and reporting through best practice and education, leveraging various tools for basic project planning, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, communication, change management, collaborative knowledge sharing, documentation, and reporting.
    • Deliver appropriate onboarding dealer agreements and/or other related fund specific documents are in place supporting the Canadian access/feeder fund business.
    • Ensure all appropriate regulatory documents are in place (i.e. PPM and Subscription document wrappers) working with iCapital legal and Compliance and EIG team on any non-Canadian funds that may be offered to Canadian investors.
    • Work with the functional iCapital teams on any new tech only initiatives with existing asset managers in Canada seeking to utilize iCapital’s systems.


  • Provide support for the overarching business model, business and operational processes, systems, and tools.
  • Assist the Canadian Business Head with any new business projects which may also include the provisioning of platform demos and/or assisting in the entry/updates to the CRM systems associated with clients and prospects or generation of reports from the same.
  • Responsible for daily operational tasks including creating a project plan and work breakdown structure that is self-sustaining, repeatable, and easily maintained.
  • Accountable for the delivery of a project execution framework aligned to the overarching business model, enabling project portfolio management at the organizational level.
  • Ensure all projects and major initiatives align to our organizational goals, strategy, and vision, achieving measurable return on investment and benefits realization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in relevant field
  • 6-10 years of project management experience in the asset management industry in Canada
  • Prior experience with product development and product administration
  • Knowledge of Canadian wealth management channels
  • Strong Prioritization and project management skills, including timely and proactive communication of timelines, status, issue partner concern
  • Experience collaborating with various cross-functional groups
  • Proven ability in driving overall improvements through recognizing inefficiencies and streamlining functions
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across both internal and client stakeholders
  • Able to work well with a team, willingness to roll up one’s sleeves and get the job done, and a desire to work in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, PPT, Excel, Visio & OneNote)
  • Adaptive Smartsheet abilities for Project Planning
