Senior Technical Project Manager

Position to be stationed in Montvale, NJ, working closely with colleagues in NJ and Germany

Who You Are: Sulzer US is looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to champion our clients’ needs as well as contribute to our overall growth plan. In this role, you will manage day-to-day project execution across internal teams, clients and partners. Your passion will propel client engagements and your dedication will show you are by their side to see the projects come to fruition. You will consistently look to break the mold as we create and build custom solutions for our clients.


What you bring to the team:

  • Strong track record managing the end-to-end execution of projects and driving alignment and progress across teams.
  • Experience navigating within a technical environment and knowledge of industry trends.
  • Ability to use strategic vision, critical thinking, and sound judgement to develop and execute growth plans.
  • Previous leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability in partnering with, and influencing, stakeholders to move initiatives forward.
  • Comfort with changing and sometimes ambiguous timelines.
  • Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Prior experience within the automotive industry is a plus, but not required for success.

 

Within 1 Month You’ll:

  • Begin to develop a rapport with Sulzer US’ team of Project Managers and Software Developers. You’ll learn their strengths and processes while also having the opportunity to provide a fresh perspective.
  • Learn about Sulzer US, our business model and product and service offerings.
  • Shadow members of our Project Management team to determine how we can continue to build trusting, lasting relationships with clients.
  • Start forming relationships with clients by establishing yourself as a trusted advisor.


Within 3 Months You’ll:

  • Feel more comfortable with the subject matter and continuously leverage your team members to help fill in any gaps of understanding.
  • Have established relationships with our internal teams so that together we can continue to plan and deliver great work.
  • Begin to build credibility and trust with our clients by taking a disciplined approach to project management ensuring regular communication and the timely delivery on commitments.

 

Within 6 Months You’ll:

  • Regularly meet with clients to become an integral part of the planning process.
  • Proactively identify our clients’ goals, and show that our team understands and is aligned to help get them there.

 

Within Your First Year You’ll:

  • Be the main point of contact for our clients on your projects.
  • Own and drive major cross-functional project efforts. You will identify the scope, detect and communicate risks, and coordinate with all teams.
  • Contribute to Sulzer US’ continuous improvement initiative by bringing fresh ideas and the energy to bring our team to the next level.
  • Potentially take over management of other project managers.
