Our client builds AI agents that automate complex reasoning tasks in the legal industry (think time tracking and billing analysis, case data extraction and correlation analysis, etc.) Their team of data scientists and full-stack developers excels at the rapid development of accurate, explainable, and repeatable AI solutions. Right now, they are seeking a Python Developer to join their team in building cutting-edge AI solutions. You'll work on challenging problems at the intersection of large language models, knowledge engineering, and enterprise software development. This role offers the opportunity to work with emerging AI technologies while delivering practical value to industry clients.

You're a hands-on developer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and navigating ambiguity. You have strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-grade systems. You're excited about the possibilities of AI but grounded in the practical realities of building reliable software. You excel at asking hard questions to uncover true customer challenges and can translate complex requirements into intuitive solutions using simple, composable design patterns. While comfortable working independently, you know when to seek input from the team and how to drive clarity in uncertain situations.

• Strong Python development experience with modern frameworks (FastAPI, Pydantic)
• Experience with LLM technologies (OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, etc.) and LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex)
• Proven track record building RAG pipelines, text extraction solutions, and agentic systems
• Proficiency with vector databases (Pinecone, Pgvector, Chroma, etc.)
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of embedding models and semantic search
• Understanding of prompt engineering
• Experience with CI/CD and associated tooling (GitHub Actions)

• Have experience with Frontend development experience (React)
• Have experience building and running applications in AWS
• Know LLM evaluation metrics
• Have experience with Docker and container orchestration
• Are familiar with MLOps practices and tools
• Have a background in healthcare or legal tech domains

• Design and implement end-to-end AI solutions for enterprise clients, from rapid prototyping to production deployment
• Lead exploratory data analysis and extraction projects, finding creative ways to unlock value from structured and unstructured data
• Build robust RAG pipelines that combine multiple data sources and knowledge bases
• Experiment with different LLM models and approaches to optimize for accuracy, cost, and performance
• Drive technical discovery through rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development
• Work directly with clients to understand their core challenges and design intuitive solutions
• Contribute to our internal knowledge base and engineering best practices
