Job Description
Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio is a powerhouse collection of consumer-first brands, supported by media industry leaders, Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky. Responsibilities

  • Liaise with product owners and stakeholders to review acceptance criteria and technical specifications.
  • Provide active contribution towards key design decisions and implementation.
  • Collaborate with engineers to help develop effective test plans and strategies.
  • Write and execute test cases (manual and automated) for backend, API and playback.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure quality is considered at every stage of the lifecycle.
  • Own defect management and perform knowledgeable analysis of the testing results to perform root cause analysis.
  • Effectively utilize applicable testing tools and be proactive in improving team tech stack.
  • Work toward increasing operational efficiency.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering in related industry.
  • 2+ years of experience in test automation at a coding level.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test practice and terminology at all SDLC and STLC phases.
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using test management tools such as Zephyr, Qmetry or TestRail and project management/defect logging tools such as JIRA or GitHub.
  • Strong knowledge of proxying and debugging tools (Charles, Fiddler, or similar).
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills with the ability to analyze logs and detect root cause of the issue.
  • Working knowledge of video testing on web, mobile and OTT devices.
  • Understanding of video packaging, encoding and delivery.
  • Experience with video and audio codec testing.
  • Solid knowledge of API testing and tools like Postman, SoapUI, Insomnia, etc.
  • Experience working on Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud infrastructure like AWS.
  • Understanding of cloud-based video streaming ecosystem.
  • Understanding of Ad insertion, video encryption and advanced video features is a plus.
  • Experience of test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and associated design patterns.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, Java preferred.
  • BDD testing using Cucumber JVM.
  • Proficiency in versioning control, PR standards, best practices in maintaining quality code for automation scripts.
  • Continuous efforts to maintain comprehensive test coverage and to increase automation coverage vs manual.
