The Data Strategies Group (DSG) is a central quantitative research team that works alongside trading teams at the forefront of alternative data, AI/ML research, and quantitative modeling. As a Quantitative Developer in DSG, you will work directly with quantitative researchers and investment teams to apply our insights to critical investment problems across Citadel's investment strategies.

In accordance with applicable law, the base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $250,000.
In addition, the employee who fills this role will be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive compensation program, as well as a wide array of benefit programs, such as medical and life insurance, retirement and tax-free savings plans, and access to other healthcare programs.

Key responsibilities
- Innovation: Stay at the frontier of quantitative methods, contributing to the advancement of tools, libraries, and best practices for quantitative development across Citadel.
- Research Enablement: Partner with quantitative researchers to design knowledge graphs, set up efficient infrastructure and research workflow, and optimize production code.
- Custom Tools Development and Product Mindset: Design and build efficient custom tools ("prototypes") to quickly deliver research insights from alternative data to investment teams, aligned to the needs of those teams.
- Data Infrastructure: Build and maintain high-performance pipelines for alternative datasets, ensuring quality, timeliness, and reliability.
- Entrepreneurship: Act as an intellectual entrepreneur and owner by proactively creating novel tools and developing innovative approaches that have the potential to create commercial impact.

Required Skills
Technical & analytical skills:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Exceptional command of Python; ability to write scalable and maintainable production code.
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals and software development experience.
- Familiarity with cloud computing environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, orchestration).
Soft skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Quantitative intuition and creativity with a passion for uncovering insights in complex datasets.
