About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Sales Director (Managing Director level) within Corporate & Investment Banking / Markets Division as part of the sales and trading platform for Macro products (Rates/FX Asset Class).

Under this group, Institutional Macro Sales is a public-side team that helps Institutional clients manage exposures to global interest rates and currencies through the structuring and execution of hedging strategies. Our integrated sales team provides best in-class origination, execution and service for Wells Fargo’s Corporate and Investment Banking franchise.

This Managing Director position is a FX focused senior client facing role with leadership responsibility for the Institutional FX client franchise and strategy. It involves a high degree of partnership across the team, Macro Sales and Trading leadership, CIB Markets and CIB Banking to deliver best in class coverage and value-added solutions to the broader CIB client base.  

In this role, you will:

  • Lead coverage efforts, projects, teams, and serve as a player coach
  • Drive the origination, coverage and structuring for a specific client segment
  • Lead and manage complex client situations and transactions to deliver solutions
  • Culture of excellence carrier with focus on clients, delivering with precision and culture of collaboration
  • Work closely with Macro Management to define strategy and goals for the business and the Institutional Team
  • Work closely with Macro Management to define key business metrics to track the progress against the strategy objectives
  • Review and analyze complex business, operational, or technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of client needs
  • Make decisions for providing proactive communication and consultation requiring a sound understanding of client support to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and management to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Maintain consistent, professional, and value-added client coverage
  • Contribute to overall team goals set and participate in platform initiatives
  • Work effectively with Rates & FX partners to develop and implement holistic risk management strategies for Wells Fargo’s Institutional clients
  • Maintain strong discipline around credit risk management, CVA/Capital to achieve appropriate risk return targets
  • Build strong working relationships with CIB Banking and CIB product partners
  • Partner effectively with all support areas to deliver superior customer service
  • Help train, mentor, coach and develop junior talent
  • Ensure compliance with all new Dodd-Frank and other regulatory rules and help guide team to improve process to meet market practices as they develop

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 15+ years interest rate, foreign exchange experience or other equivalent capital markets experience
  • Experience working with complex hedging and funding structures
  • Experience originating, structuring, pricing, and risk managing deal contingent transactions
  • In-depth knowledge of XVA and bank capital treatment of derivatives
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proven ability to create effective relationships with internal partners and clients
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel with comfort creating original, client/business-ready content
  • High proficiency in financial modeling (derivatives modeling)
  • High proficiency with Bloomberg terminal
  • Self-motivated to perform at a high level
  • Desire to work in collaborative environment
  • Capital markets and accounting knowledge
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field

Job Expectations:

  • Up to 50% client travel and up to 5 days per week office presence where team is located (30 Hudson Yards)
  • May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards

This position is subject to Dodd-Frank Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background screen. Applicants are subject to a new screen to comply with Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act which states that Associated Persons (AP) cannot be subject to statutory disqualification. Under industry regulations, an AP is defined as a team member who solicits or accepts client orders for swaps. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$249,500.00 - $518,300.00
