Sent is building the messaging infrastructure that powers how businesses communicate with their customers. We provide a unified API for SMS, WhatsApp, iMessage, and RCS, making it simple for developers to reach people on any channel.
We've raised $5.1M in seed funding backed by Companyon Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, UIF, and CEAS Investments, and we're scaling fast. This is the role that makes that happen.
The RoleWe're looking for a Recruiter to own hiring at Sent during our most critical growth phase. You won't just coordinate interviews, you'll own the entire recruiting function, from defining our hiring strategy to closing candidates.
This role reports to the Head of Operations, and you'll be the first dedicated recruiting hire, which means real ownership and real visibility.
This is a high-impact role. You'll shape who joins Sent and how we build our team.
What You'll DoOwn the full recruiting lifecycle. Source candidates, manage our pipeline in Ashby, run screens, coordinate interviews, and help close offers. You'll be the primary point of contact for candidates throughout their experience with us.
Partner with senior team. Work closely with team leads to define role requirements, calibrate on candidate profiles, and keep searches on track. You'll push back when needed and bring market perspective to hiring decisions.
Build our recruiting infrastructure. We're early. You'll help define our interview processes, improve our candidate experience, and create systems that scale as we grow.
Manage external partnerships. Coordinate with recruiters, sourcing partners, and agencies. Know when to use them and how to get the most out of those relationships.
Track and improve. Own recruiting metrics - time to hire, pipeline conversion, source effectiveness. Use data to identify bottlenecks and continuously improve how we hire.
What We're Looking For2-4 years of recruiting experience, ideally at a startup or high-growth company. You've owned requisitions end-to-end, not just scheduled interviews.
Track record of hiring across functions. You've successfully filled technical and non-technical roles. Experience hiring sales / go-to-market talent is a plus.
Strong judgment on people. You can assess candidates quickly and accurately.
Highly organized and responsive. You manage multiple searches simultaneously without dropping balls. Candidates and hiring managers both find you easy to work with.
Comfortable building from scratch. You thrive in ambiguity and can create structure where none exists. You're not waiting for someone to hand you a playbook.
Familiarity with modern recruiting tools. Experience with Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, or similar ATS platforms. You pick up new systems quickly.
Based in NYC or able to be in our Flatiron office 3–4 days per week.
