About the Role

We are looking for a Regulatory and Product Counsel to join our legal and compliance team. This is a high-impact role for a lawyer who wants to be at the center of a fast-growing fintech—advising on product development, supporting our compliance management system (CMS), and helping navigate an evolving regulatory landscape. You will work directly with our General Counsel and partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a primary legal advisor on product counseling matters, providing practical regulatory guidance on new product features, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies

  • Advise on consumer financial protection laws, including UDAAP, fair lending, state licensing requirements (lending, money transmission), and other applicable federal and state regulations

  • Support all aspects of the compliance management system (CMS), including policies and procedures, training, monitoring, and corrective action

  • Review and approve customer-facing materials and marketing collateral for regulatory accuracy and required disclosures

  • Assist with third-party and vendor risk management, including review of vendor contracts and oversight programs

  • Support licensing portfolio management, including tracking deadlines, coordinating renewals, and preparing regulatory filings

  • Assist with internal and external audits and regulatory examinations, including document preparation and response coordination

  • Liaise with our Partner Bank on compliance-related matters and communicate effectively with Partner Bank stakeholders

  • Monitor regulatory developments and translate legal changes into actionable guidance for internal teams

What We’re Looking For
  • J.D. and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • 3+ years of regulatory legal experience, including time at a law firm, regulatory agency, financial institution, or in-house at a fintech or financial services company

  • Substantive knowledge of consumer financial protection laws and regulations (e.g., TILA, EFTA, ECOA, UDAAP, state lending laws)

  • Experience advising on product or business initiatives in a regulated environment

  • Familiarity with compliance management systems and their core components

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance

  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Bonus: Experience with state money transmission or lending licensing, partner bank relationships, or third-party risk management frameworks
