Release Manager - Technology

The Release Manager Technology will drive Collaborate with different teams (eg., development, product owner, quality assurance), stakeholders and senior management to define release cycles, milestones, and their dependencies
The role serves as the focal point for matters of collaboration, and the principle point of coordination with adjacent teams. Highly influential, this position requires significant collaboration with other cross functional senior leadership across the Digital team, other Iron Mountain business units, and corporate support groups.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with different teams (eg., development, product owner, quality assurance), stakeholders and senior management to define release cycles, milestones, and their dependencies

Track all features, updates, and releases across different versions of software applications and environments. Ensure versioning is consistent and organized across development, staging, and production environments

Coordinate the deployment of software releases, patches, and updates to different environments (e.g., staging, testing, production). Ensure that deployments are carried out on time, without affecting service uptime, and in accordance with release plans

Work closely with development and quality assurance teams to ensure that each release meets established quality standards. Proactively identify risks and work with stakeholders to mitigate any potential issues in the release process, including performance bottlenecks and system incompatibilities

Define and establish a vetted rollout and rollback mechanisms to reduce impact to production systems

Effectively communicate release schedules, progress, risks, and potential delays to stakeholders, including product owners, development teams, and senior management. Ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the release cycle

Coordinate post-release activities, including issue resolution, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. Ensure that all deployed releases are actively monitored and that any issues are addressed promptly

Ensure documentation for each release, including release notes, version histories, rollback plans, and change logs. Ensure clear tracking of all application versions and configurations throughout the deployment pipeline

Identify opportunities to optimize and enhance the overall release pipeline and application version management. Implement best practices and industry standards to improve release pipelines
Qualifications:
-
Proven experience as a Release Manager or in a similar role, with a strong focus on application version management and deployment coordination within software development, DevOps, or IT operations

Strong knowledge of version control systems, application lifecycle management, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tools. Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple releases, deadlines, and dependencies. Experience with project management tools such as Jira to track release tasks

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and resolve issues quickly to keep releases on track

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Familiarity with deployment coordination for multi-environment setups (e.g., staging, pre-production, production)

Knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks
Education

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Proven experience (8+ years) in Technology, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing strategy, operations, and transformation
