In this unique hybrid role, you’ll be driving a combination of operational & technical R&D initiatives to improve our alerts, data source coverage, and experiment with ways to maximize ROI from machine learning and AI models. You are a highly motivated individual that loves making sense of large amounts of data, developing models & conducting R&D to inform decision making, and creating presentations to convey strategic insights. The opportunity
  • Gather, analyse and use data to drive both day-to-day decision-making and long-term strategic and operational planning

  • Conduct analysis and deep-dives into aspects of Dataminr’s alerting and operational processes, in order to identify and execute quality improvement and innovation opportunities

  • Conduct R&D data exploration of open source data ingests utilizing APIs and other methods

  • Support and build proprietary algorithmic data streams

  • Find technical solutions to help solve business and internal product challenges

  • Collaborate closely with Operational, AI and Data teams to support business objectives

  • Be self-driven with proven technical abilities, sense of teamwork, and willingness to roll up their sleeves and get work done

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 4+ years in a similar role at a consulting, operations, or analytics firm/role

  • Passion for breaking information, current world events, technology, and a great understanding of both social media and publicly available data

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, with a strong sense of ownership and willingness get work done

  • Ability to maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, quickly learning new technologies and business requirements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with self-motivation and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

  • High proficiency in following technical skills:

    • MS Office suite, Google Suite

    • Experience with metrics analysis

    • Experience using SQL for data analysis 

    • Python scripting skills desirable

The annual base salary range for this position is $90,400 - $133,000. You will also be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus and Company equity. Actual salary will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
