Position Overview

Orange Barrel Media is seeking a Research and Insights Manager to guide our research and insights strategy and measurement vendor relationships. You'll identify research opportunities that reveal audience behaviors, translate OOH measurement data from Geopath and other partners into compelling insights, and deliver actionable narratives that inform business strategy.

Currently, this is primarily a project management role, not people management. It requires strong business acumen and the ability to make complex data understandable to sales teams and advertisers.

Please provide a cover letter sharing how your experience and interests synch up with this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business questions from Sales, Real Estate, and Operations into analytical approaches and actionable outputs
  • Manage relationships with third-party measurement vendors (Geopath, mobility data providers, etc.), coordinating both recurring submissions and research projects
  • Analyze and validate third-party measurement data, identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement and deeper insight.
  • Develop strategic insights from measurement data and create compelling presentations that demonstrate advertising effectiveness and audience value
  • Identify research opportunities and design custom studies about our audiences and markets
  • Ensure data quality across all measurement reporting, oversee dashboard development, and stay current on OOH measurement methodology
  • Acting as key liaison internally for Sales, support the team with campaign-specific insights and train stakeholders on how to leverage audience research effectively.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-6 years in insights, research, or analytics roles within media, advertising, or marketing organizations
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis, manipulation, and reporting (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
  • Experience creating executive presentations that translate technical concepts clearly
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and coordinate multiple research projects simultaneously
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of how research insights drive sales and business decisions
  • Clear, confident communicator who can present to sales teams, executives, and external clients
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to connect data outputs to real-world business use cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new data sources, tools, and business concepts quickly.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with OOH measurement platforms (Geopath strongly preferred) or impression-based systems
  • Background in advertising sales support, media planning/buying, or research agency work
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or SQL (helpful but not required)

What Success Looks Like

  • You take ownership of your work while remaining open to feedback and collaboration.
  • You value relationships with colleagues and vendors as the foundation of successful projects.
  • You don't just report data—you proactively identify insights that drive strategy.
  • You stay curious about measurement innovations, spot compelling data stories, and excel at bridging technical concepts with business application.

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000 annually and is eligible for an annual performance bonus. This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the role and is not an exhaustive list of skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities, or working conditions associated with it. Responsibilities may change over time to adapt to business needs.
