Job Description Summary

The Revenue Manager assists the Market Director of Revenue Management and the entire reservation sales team in a manner that allows the company to optimize revenues and for making our brand promise come alive through the delivery of high-level services to our customers. Responsible for achieving revenue goals of designated properties through analyzing various sales trends and data and implementing sales restrictions and inventory controls accordingly. Must ensure correct placement and rate positioning on all distribution channels and be able to increase the Hotels’ market share.

Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support revenue management and distribution team goals and strategies
  • Review, analyze, and communicate day-to-day changes, available inventory, and transient pace for designated hotels using various IdeaS, SynXis, Business Intelligence systems. 
  • Work with Revenue Team to develop, implement, maintain, and measure revenue impacting strategies.
  • Review and analyze market and competitive intelligence on a regular basis
  • Create analytical adhoc reports as directed by the Area Director of Revenue(s) providing in-depth, targeted, information. 
  • Support the hotels’ yield efforts, via analysis and reporting that ensure that all segments and distribution channels are “mined” for revenue opportunities based on budget, forecast, pace and market demand.
  • Work with and maintain an innovative, forward-thinking team attitude, driven towards improvement.
  • Maximize the potential and ensure proactive and accurate maintenance and management of all systems: IdeaS, Opera, SynXis, and Business Intelligence
  • Provide analytical research documents and reports in supporting your hotels strategic ideation process
  • Identify and communicate demand periods (high and low) for which a strategic plan is needed; build the strategic plan in conjunction with Revenue Team
  • In each hotel’s Weekly Strategy/Yield Meetings, provide insight and recommendations in terms of pricing, availability, market demand and promotional opportunities for all segments and channels.
  • Complete projects in conjunction with hotels and regional needs as assigned by Area Director(s) or Regional Director of Revenue.
  • Use analysis to update selling restrictions and inventory controls in IdeaS and/or SynXis as required.
  • Authorize update of selling restrictions in other distribution channels on daily basis ensuring rate integrity.
  • Review all reports for 100% accuracy prior to general release
  • Interface with Front Office Managers on same-day selling strategies
  • Must maintain technical expertise on all relative components of IdeaS, SynXis, Opera, Excel and other tools.
  • Ensure that all resources are utilized to maintain and/or increase RevPAR Index and Net Revenue.
  • Conduct detailed displacement analysis for groups and long terms business as needed.
  • Support other areas of revenue, sales, operations, and marketing as necessary.
  • Lead your hotel revenue team(s) and daily revenue process in the absence of the (Area) Director of Revenue Management.

Technical Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent working knowledge of all reservations systems.
  • Able to create, implement and analyze manual and automated reports.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of management strategies and techniques.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial applications of Outlook, Opera PMS, SynXis, Microsoft Office, and other appropriate PC applications.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge must be advanced in Word, Excel, & Powerpoint.               
  • Operational knowledge of national sales process, Delphi, GDS, and third-party internet distribution.
  • Knowledge of all corporate support/functions.
  • Must have the ability to create revenue reports to be used as tools in enhancing growth.

  • Ability to comprehend and analyze a STR report, Demand360 report, Pickup Report, etc.
  • Computer literate, with strength in Microsoft Excel and Cognos; Possessing the aptitude and desire to learn new technology.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but some college and related experience will be considered.
  • At least 2 years' experience as a Revenue Manager or Revenue Analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NYC markets and trends.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record in the NYC market of increasing RevPAR yield.

Pay Range

Annual Compensation Rate: $85,000 - $100,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific/overall experience.
