As a Risk Management - Wealth Management Investment Risk Associate within the Wealth Management team, you will oversee the risk management of Managed Strategies across the Private Bank and Consumer Bank sectors. Your role involves handling JPMorgan's proprietary products, third-party registered funds, exchange traded notes (ETNs), exchange traded funds (ETFs), and separately managed accounts. You will manage investments from product onboarding through ongoing governance and oversight, ensuring proactive risk management for over $1 trillion in assets under management (AUM). Your responsibilities include conducting risk reviews and in-depth assessments of investment activities, metrics, and control activities for JP Morgan Wealth Management. Collaborating closely with other Risk Management colleagues, the Business, and key control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Control Management, you will provide valuable assessments and feedback on Managed Strategies, with a particular focus on equity.
Job responsibilities
  • Identify risk issues in the business and assess risk in investment activities, recommend risk mitigation strategies and escalate issues / concerns to senior management.
  • Engage with Business and Due Diligence partners to communicate risk issues related to investment products.
  • Perform Investments-related deep dives and produce ad hoc reports as needed
  • Contribute to team projects, including investments data analysis and visualization, and risk reporting
  • Represent Risk in working groups and/or meetings and review key risk issues, as appropriate
  • Continuously learn about industry-specific investment issues, trends, and best practices to maintain and enhance our review of business activities in investing.
  • Work across different risk functions, including the controls team and policy governance team to ensure documentation related to investment risk strategies are in line with firm wide initiatives, as well as audit and regulatory compliant.
  • Can handle many different tasks and demonstrate a willingness to take on responsibilities that might lay outside your area of expertise

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance or similar fields.
  • 5+ years experience in Financial Services
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively
  • Experience with investment products including fixed income, equity, and mutual funds

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Master's degree in Finance, CFA, FRM
  • Are inquisitive, with knowledge of data visualization tools (ex. Tableau) or programming (ex. VBA, Python)
