Hudson River Trading (HRT) is hiring a Risk Manager to join our Singapore office. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, improving, managing, and communicating market and liquidity risk across HRT’s strategies during Asia market hours. You will work closely with HRT’s risk, trading, and business teams to manage all aspects of the firm’s trading risk while gaining exposure to the fast-paced world of automated trading alongside exceptionally talented people. 

The Risk team is a dynamic, highly collaborative group. As a Risk Manager, you will have an opportunity to make a tangible impact on highly successful businesses within HRT that are continuing to innovate and expand. This will be a challenging role with a wide remit across trading styles and investment horizons. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor pre-trade, market, operational, and liquidity risk across various asset classes
  • Partner with Operations & Trading to investigate & resolve any risk limit breaches
  • Design risk controls for trading strategies that appropriately control market, operational, funding, counterparty, and liquidity risk
  • Analyze historical data in order to calibrate risk thresholds 
  • Design & build risk models to appropriately capture idiosyncrasies and tail risk of options strategies
  • Manage region-specific risk
  • Collaborate with Operations to develop and implement new risk monitoring tools
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Engineering on tactical projects

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a trader or risk manager at a trading firm, hedge fund, investment bank, or asset manager
  • Strong understanding of trading strategies and markets, including market-making and longer-horizon trading strategies
  • B.S. in mathematics, physics, economics, computer science, electrical engineering, or statistics 
  • Working knowledge of Python, Linux, and SQL
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the firm including traders, operations, and other risk managers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
