About Us

Nidus is building autonomous manufacturing systems powered by AI and robotics. U.S. manufacturing faces a structural challenge: a shrinking skilled workforce, underutilized equipment, and supply chains that can't keep pace with demand. We believe the answer isn't more people — it's smarter systems. We're building the intelligence layer that lets machines run autonomously, so manufacturers can scale production without scaling headcount.

Our team comes from the intersection of defense technology and AI. We've built and shipped products to DoD customers, and we bring deep experience across ML, robotics, product development, and defense

We're a small, in-person team in New York City working on hard problems that matter. If you want to build the future of American manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Staff Robotics Engineer to join our team and drive the development of advanced robotic systems that combine hardware and software to solve complex manufacturing and operational challenges. This person will be bringing the next generation robotics algorithms and vision-language action models to production environments in manufacturing facilities. This role is for someone who is scrappy and willing to move quickly and iterate rapidly while keeping long-term design goals in mind.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy robotic systems integrating hardware components with sophisticated software control algorithms, both deep learning-based and classical

  • Own the sim-to-real pipeline of our robotics algorithms

  • Develop and implement control systems, inverse kinematics algorithms, and safety algorithms

  • Prototype and test robotic systems in real-world environments, iterating based on performance data

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in robotics development, with demonstrated expertise in both hardware and software integration

  • Strong proficiency in robotics frameworks (ROS/ROS2) and programming languages (C++, Python)

  • Experience with sensor fusion, computer vision, SLAM, or motion planning algorithms

  • Proven track record of shipping robotic products or systems from concept to deployment

Preferred Qualifications
  • A PhD in robotics or extensive industry experience in a specific robotics subdomain

  • Experience with ML applications in robotics, including deep learning for perception and control and reinforcement learning

Nidus Technologies is an equal opportunity employer, and qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender perception or identity, national origin, age, marital status, protected veteran status, or disability status.

We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if you don't feel like you're a perfect fit. If you're passionate about contributing to our mission, we'd love to hear from you!
