Waystone is seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our marketing team and help build out an SDR function in the US 

The US SDR will play a critical role in generating new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing leads through proactive outreach and relationship-building, as well as helping build processes for the team to adhere to. This position is ideal for a self-starter with excellent communication skills and a passion for driving growth in the financial services sector. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead Generation: Identify and research potential clients in the asset management and financial services industries using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesforce and industry databases, such as Prequin or Lusha 
  • Outreach: Conduct high-volume outbound activities, including cold calls, emails through Hubspot Sales and social media engagement, to connect with prospective clients and schedule meetings for BD Account Executives. 
  • Nurturing: Nurture inbound marketing leads by lead qualification process through emails and discovery calls. Gathering the specifics of the requirement and successfully setting up sales meetings for the Commercial team to convert leads into opportunities. 
  • Qualification: Qualify inbound and outbound leads by assessing their needs, budget, and fit with Waystone’s services, ensuring high-quality opportunities are passed to the sales team. 
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all leads, activities and interactions in Salesforce to support efficient pipeline tracking & reporting.  
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to align on target accounts, campaigns, and messaging to maximize lead conversion. 
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to effectively position Waystone’s solutions. Work closely with the marketing teams to create business development narratives/messaging & other marketing collaterals like case studies. 
  • Follow-Up: Nurture relationships with prospects through consistent follow-up and personalized communication to build trust and maintain engagement. 

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in sales, lead generation, business development, or a customer-facing role, preferably in fund services, into global markets. 

Skills: 

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions clearly. 
  • Comfortable with cold calling and engaging prospects across multiple channels (phone, email, LinkedIn). 
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales prospecting platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo). 
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. 
  • Basic understanding of the asset management industry or financial services is a plus.
