The Sales Director will lead revenue generation strategies, manage client relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve sales objectives. They will also track performance and travel for trade shows and client meetings.
AFAR is looking for a dynamic, strategic, Sales Director to join our integrated sales team. This role will be responsible for the generation and growth of online/offline revenue through Afar’s existing channels -Afar.com, Afar Magazine, Afar Audio, Social, Events, Advisor, Creates, Video etc. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in travel or related media sales, public relations, project management, and marketing.
We’re looking for a self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is proactive in driving revenue and increasing client base. Managing the end to end sales process is a requirement. Organization, time management, and attention to detail will be critical to deliver success!
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Meet and exceed revenue goal across Afar platforms within assigned territory, agencies and/or categoriesIdentify sales prospects and work on prospect strategy
Learn and communicate clients’ key KPIs and share account insights to the marketing team for optimal proposal development
Collaborate with marketing, corporate, production, finance and other teams within the brand unit to produce top of the line advertising solutions and revenue opportunities for book of business
Present Afar brand and tailored opportunities to various clients, stakeholders, agency partners
Develops and manages ongoing relationships with clients and agency relationships
Responsible for overall account health, retention, growth and optimization across platforms and product lines
Reports business performance, status and trends to assigned accounts
Travel is required to attend industry trade shows and client meetings
Makes independent tactical decisions in alignment with company values, goals, policies & procedures
Required Skills:
Position is remote, tri-state area with access to New York City strongly preferred
3-5 years experience of integrated media sales
Must be highly motivated and passionate
Excellent presentation, time management and organizational skills
Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Fluency in the latest technologies (digital, social and mobile)Self-starter able to solve problems, identify issues and develop solutions
Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills
Proven sales and closing success with ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and high-level conservations
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote, start-up environment with grace under pressure
A love of travel and the ability to travel for work
