Apono
At Apono we empower organizations to run in the cloud by aligning operations and security around access management.
Our platform provides companies with Just-In-Time and Just Enough access across their hybrid environments reducing the access risk while improving productivity. Apono has offices in New York and Tel Aviv and supports dozens of customers across the US and the world including large Fortune 500 companies, and was honored in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Privileged Access Management.
What are we looking for?
As a Sales Engineer, Growth (Mid-Market), you’re the technical backbone of our core mid-market engine. You’ll partner closely with AEs to run high-velocity, high-quality sales cycles: discovery, technical alignment, tailored demos, and fast POVs that get customers to “yes” with confidence.
You blend deep technical understanding with clear, business-focused communication, and you care about building repeatable motion, not just winning one deal at a time.

Location: New York, NY (3 Times a week in the office)

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Growth/Mid-Market AEs to support the full technical sales cycle.
  • Lead technical discovery to understand customer stack, access model, and risk drivers.
  • Deliver tailored demos that map Apono to specific customer use cases.
  • Design and run POVs: scope success criteria, configure environments, and guide customers to a clear outcome.
  • Answer RFP/RFI-level technical questions and security due diligence (architecture, data flow, IAM model).
  • Translate requirements into proposed architectures across:
    - Cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure)Identity (Okta, Azure AD, etc.)
    - Databases, Kubernetes, and other infra
    - Build and refine repeatable assets for the mid-market motion: demo flows, templates, talk tracks, sample configs.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to surface customer feedback and influence roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success / Implementation for smooth handoff and fast time-to-value.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years in a technical Sales/Solutions Engineering role.
  • Solid hands-on experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience with security and access tooling (i.e., PAM, ZTNA, or IAM)
  • Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools.
  • Comfort with Identity & Access Management (SSO, IAM, RBAC, SAML/OIDC).
  • Ability to speak credibly with DevOps, security, and platform teams (and translate for non-technical buyers).
  • Strong demo and storytelling skills: you can make a complex product feel valuable and straightforward.
  • Experience running multiple deals in parallel in a mid-market or velocity motion.
  • Organized and outcome-driven: you keep opportunities unblocked and moving.

Why Apono?

We're building the future of access management, and we want you to thrive while doing it. Here's what we offer:

  • Salary of $180,000 - $220,000 OTE
  • Equity in a fast-growing cybersecurity company - share in what we build together
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • HSA and FSA options available
  • Life insurance plus short and long-term disability coverage
  • Unlimited PTO and paid holidays

Salary ranges consider location, experience, and market data. We'll discuss compensation early in the process and provide full details with your offer.
