Job DescriptionTerritory: Great Lakes Region (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan)
The Sales Manager is responsible for direct sales execution, individual account management, and new business development within an assigned customer portfolio.
Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager, this role owns day‑to‑day customer relationships, opportunity development, pricing and contract negotiations, and margin expansion. The Sales Manager serves as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned customers and is accountable for identifying growth opportunities, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales and fulfillment lifecycle.
The role has no direct reports and operates through strong cross‑functional collaboration. The Sales Manager works seamlessly with Customer Service, Logistics, Supply Chain, Pricing, Demand Planning, Technical Sales, and Order Fulfillment teams to ensure customer commitments are executable and service expectations are met. This role is a key integrator between customers and internal teams, ensuring timely communication, issue resolution, and alignment between commercial agreements and operational execution.
Success in this role requires high energy, strong organization, and a professional, engaging customer demeanor. Top performers are proactive, disciplined, and highly responsive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining rigorous follow‑through. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Own day‑to‑day management of assigned customer accounts, serving as the primary commercial point of contact and ensuring strong, trust‑based customer relationships.
- Drive new business development within the assigned territory or customer portfolio by identifying growth opportunities, developing prospects, and advancing opportunities through the sales pipeline.
- Lead customer pricing and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with approved commercial strategies while driving margin expansion and profitable growth.
- Coordinate closely with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, Pricing, and Demand Planning teams to ensure customer commitments are executable and fulfilled as agreed.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and service performance, proactively addressing concerns, resolving complaints, and escalating issues as necessary to protect relationships and revenue.
- Develop accurate customer‑level forecasts and demand insights, communicating changes in customer needs, risks, or opportunities to internal stakeholders.
- Represent the company professionally in customer interactions, consistently reinforcing the company’s value proposition and commercial credibility.
- Must live in the Great Lakes Region (Indiana, Ohio, Michigan)
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, or a related discipline required; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development.
- Demonstrated success managing customer relationships, developing new business, and delivering revenue and margin growth.
- Experience supporting or leading customer pricing and contract negotiations, with an understanding of margin and profitability drivers.
- Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with customer service, logistics, supply chain, pricing, and planning teams to deliver customer commitments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow‑through skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing role.
- High‑energy, customer‑oriented professional with a collaborative mindset, sound judgment, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Additional InformationWhat we offer at O-I:
Salary Range: The expected salary for this position is around $95,000 – $125,000 and includes a possible 15% - 25% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
