Julius Silvert (Est. 1915) is a Wholesale Specialty Food Distributor seeking a highly motivated Food and Beverage Sales Representative. For over 100 years, our third-generation, family-owned business has proudly served customers along the east coast with the finest ingredients available. We are searching for the right “foodie” to be responsible for selling our products, maximizing sales, and building strong relationships with both new and existing accounts.

Are you a Chef or Culinary Manager looking to transition into Sales, or an experienced Sales Representative with a passion for Specialty Food? Do you value the effort behind each dish you taste? This Specialty Food and Beverage Sales Representative position could be your next prospect!

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining accounts within assigned territory.
  • Utilize market trends to identify popular products and anticipate the needs of our accounts to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with accounts to identify needs/opportunities to increase sales.
  • Fulfill all order requests, and communicate to necessary team members.
  • Attend training/tasting sessions specifically for specialty food items (seasonal cheese/EVOO/breads etc.)
  • Monitor the delivery of products to accounts under your supervision to troubleshoot any issues including but not limited to out-of-stock items, damaged items, or special-order items.
  • Openly communicate with the AR team to ensure timely payment.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Executive Chef Experience or Specialty Food/Beverage Sales Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage products is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop creative solutions to customer service issues.
  • Ability to maintain an even temper when assisting clients.
  • Ability to multitask and follow up, both internally with departments and externally with customers.
  • Vehicle Required
  • “Foodies" desired
