Who we are
The Looking Glass is the world’s first desktop holographic display for 3D creators—no VR or AR headset required. It was launched the summer of 2018 to make the dream of the hologram real—and there are now thousands of Looking Glasses shining with the light of holographic glory on the desks of 3D creators around the world.
Through the Looking Glass, our aim is to change the future to one in which groups of people are gathered around pieces of 3D digital space instead of living in a world in which everyone is forced into a VR or AR headset for 16 hours a day. Our customers include 3D development agencies, medical professionals, architects, animators, designers, artists, game studios, technologists and straight-up 3D nerds.
This is a full-time role based in Brooklyn, NY.
Why we need You
The Looking Glass has driven a lot of curiosity about our new hologram technology from a broad range of different clients. Given recent press and social media attention, there is a high level of inbound interest that has been growing from day to day as our products get in more people’s hands.
That’s where you come in. Engaging, understanding, and converting inbound interest into sales as well as market feedback is key to our growth at this stage. This role will be the primary contact for prospective clients. We are looking for someone who is people focused, goal oriented, and excited about the challenge of evangelizing a new technology. This is a unique opportunity for the right person to help build and grow the market at the pace of a fast-growing startup company.
Here’s what You’ll be doing
As a business development representative at Looking Glass Factory, you will be responsible for identifying and closing new business with our individual and enterprise clients. Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Field inbound interest, qualify, and present appropriate products
Target similar audiences, identify prospects, and execute outreach plans
Meet and exceed sales targets
Help to define and build sales materials and collateral with marketing team
Identify marketplace trends, sensitivities, and new opportunities
Collaborate daily with teammates across organization
Report weekly on progress to quantitative goals and qualitative client insights
You’ll need these qualifications
2+ years experience in sales or business development in startup environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Team player and go-getter who will do what it takes
Curiosity and drive to discover, explore, and help build a new category of technology
Here are some other things we care about for this position as well
Some familiarity with 3D modeling and / or VR/AR/MR eco-system
Hardware, B2B sales, and / or channel experience preferred
Adaptable, independent and quick learner
