You'll partner closely with customer business and technology stakeholders to ensure the technical roadmap directly enables their desired business outcomes.
This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and strong consulting skills, focusing on problem-solving and leading technical projects within the Salesforce ecosystem. You will be responsible for the technical design, technology selection, integration strategy, and development methodology, while also governing the execution of development work.
Technical Architects at Thunder are problem-solvers - so here's your chance to showcase your tenacity and help redefine how technical architecture can be delivered, focusing on digging deep to solve customer problems!
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Technical Leader for customer engagements from inception through support
- Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platforms and products
- Define the system architecture and identify gaps between the current and desired end-states to deliver a comprehensive CRM and customer data solution
- Architect Data 360 (and other Salesforce cloud) implementations — including data modeling, harmonization, identity resolution, calculated insights, and activation strategies — as part of a unified customer data platform
- Forecast detailed estimates for proposed solutions and clearly articulate the benefits and risks of feasibility and functionality
- Create diagrams, draft design documentation, and employ best practices to lead technical aspects of implementation and optimization projects
- Oversee the development team to ensure the system meets client expectations, proper testing is conducted, and performance is monitored
- Partner with offshore and nearshore resources to conduct code reviews, uphold coding standards, and clarify design decisions
- Help to define and enforce coding and documentation standards at Thunder
- Remain current on Salesforce product and technical capabilities
- Support sales efforts by accurately estimating the technical level of effort
- Demonstrate expertise through blog writing, public speaking, and client presentations
Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of technical or consulting experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, specifically as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant, or developer in a customer-facing role that provided differentiated software technology solutions
- 4+ years' experience as a Technical Architect, with 2+ years of hands-on experience architecting Salesforce Data Cloud solutions, including data ingestion (batch/streaming connectors), identity resolution and unification, calculated insights, segmentation, and activation to downstream channels (Marketing Cloud, ad platforms, etc.)
- Key additional areas of expertise we're looking for: Service Cloud, MuleSoft, ARM, Marketing Cloud, AWS/Amazon Connect, etc.
- Technical skill set should include system design and architecture, Lightning Component development, Flows definition, Salesforce configuration, Apex class development, API integration, and Data Cloud data modeling/architecture
- Expert in custom and managed-package API integrations (RESTful + SOAP)
- Proven implementation using Salesforce Integration Patterns
- Expertise in data modeling and complex data migrations, including harmonized data models spanning Data Cloud and core CRM objects
- Active Salesforce certifications required, including Salesforce Certified Data 360 Consultant certification, with willingness to achieve additional certifications on emerging technologies
