MISSION STATEMENT: 

To build and scale the modern technology foundation that powers a world-class digital lending platform, marrying land intelligence with rapid capital access for agricultural real estate. 

ROLE DISCRIPTION: 

The Scrum Master - Reimagine is responsible for helping build and evolve a new "greenfield" digital lending ecosystem. Operating at the intersection of systems design, data security, and emerging technology, this role ensures that AAC’s proprietary land intelligence and new digital lending platform is built to engage with customers, providing a product they want to come back to often, and helps them obtain the financing they need 

This role will be part of a new team that seeks to leverage the best qualities of a small agile startup with the presence and stability of a successful market leader. This position demands a hands-on startup mindset, balancing customer needs with disciplined execution, while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.  

Reporting to the Head of Technology - Reimagine, The Scrum Master will be responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of work to build out our next-generation agricultural lending platform. They will work closely with product managers and designers to identify and capture work, grooming backlogs to help prioritize, and then work with the technical team(s) delivering customer-centric solutions and engage with key technology partners and vendors to deliver customer value 

This role demands direct, hands-on involvement in communicating and coordinating with both internal and external teams, with a particular focus on the front-end experience, to deliver the ICR for Streamline Capital by EOY. The successful candidate will have strong ADO experience, ability to work with minimal supervision, engage with third party vendors, resolve problems and escalate risks and issues, all while maintaining strong alignment with key business goals. 

BASIC FUNCTION: 

The Scrum Master - Reimagine is accountable for working with business delivery teams to deliver key application functionality for both internal and customer-facing applications within the association using agile principles. The key to the success of this position is to partner with Product Owners, Technology Leadership and the technology teams to ensure applications are supported and value is delivered to our business partners and customers.  The Scrum Master provides coaching and support through agile practices. 

The Scrum Master plans and executes sprint planning, conducts daily standup meetings, and prepares team retrospectives to support the successful delivery of product backlog work items.  In addition to owning the Scrum Master duties for a team, this position is instrumental in driving cohesive agile practices across the association and other Scrum Masters. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Act as a servant leader including facilitation, situational awareness, and conflict resolution.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, to monitor sprint progress.
  • Work with business delivery team members to break down deliverables into epics, user stories, and tasks.
  • Coach and mentor the business delivery team in agile frameworks and principles and fostering the team’s ability to self-organize, while also holding the team accountable to their commitments.
  • Adhere to the Associations Change Management procedures
  • Mediate conflicts to assist the team in making decisions.
  • Remove roadblocks and facilitate solution development with the team.
  • Supports a culture of continuous process improvement through team retrospectives and key indicators around team performance.
  • Ensures clear communication and organization of all association strategic and business delivery team goals.
  • Effective communication with the team, technology leadership and business stakeholders
  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills in order to support the team in successful delivery of business value

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

Exercises no supervision; makes some independent decisions; works under direction from Technology Director.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
  • Certification for a Scrum Master (CSM) required.
  • Five or more years of experience working as a scrum master, product manager, or project manager in an agricultural or financial institution preferred.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with business delivery teams, leadership, senior management and internal/external stakeholders. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely across business delivery teams.
  • Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • In-depth understanding of agile methodologies, and up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate with a broad set of constituencies, both technical and non-technical.
  • Basic understanding of software development practices to understand team needs is desired.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft office suite, and applicable databases.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and sit at a desk for an extended period of time. Job requires extensive use of computers and phones. While performing the job, the employee is required to sit, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach and have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to work with typical hardware and cabling practices required. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Must be able to interact effectively with people at all levels of company. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Occasional travel may be required.

FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $84,620.15 - Max $135,392.24 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
