About the Role

Edelman is looking for a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join our Brand Marketing team in New York, supporting a portfolio of well-known consumer brands across personal care, food, and beverage.

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who is passionate about earned media, consumer storytelling, and bringing creative ideas to life. You'll work across iconic consumer brands, supporting everything from always-on media relations and product launches to integrated campaigns that tap into culture, trends, and the moments that matter to consumers.

As a key member of the account team, you'll serve as a day-to-day client contact, build relationships with journalists, and collaborate with creative, digital, and analytics partners to deliver impactful communications programs.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, confident in client communications, and ready to take ownership of their work while continuing to grow their expertise in consumer PR.

Who You Are

You're a curious, proactive communicator who understands what makes a compelling story and how to bring it to the right audiences. You have a strong understanding of the media landscape, enjoy building relationships with clients and journalists, and know how to turn consumer trends and cultural moments into meaningful earned media opportunities.

You thrive in collaborative environments, take initiative, and feel comfortable managing multiple priorities while delivering thoughtful, high-quality work.

What You'll Do
  • Drive day-to-day earned media efforts, including developing targeted media lists, crafting compelling pitches and press releases, conducting proactive outreach, and building relationships with consumer, lifestyle, and food & beverage journalists.
  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact, managing communications, deliverables, timelines, and expectations while building trusted relationships.
  • Support the planning and execution of integrated PR campaigns, product launches, brand activations, and always-on media programs.
  • Collaborate with creative, digital, paid media, and analytics teams to execute integrated 360-degree campaigns that connect brands with consumers.
  • Monitor consumer trends, cultural moments, and the competitive landscape to identify timely storytelling opportunities and bring fresh ideas to clients.
  • Manage multiple projects and workstreams, proactively anticipating needs, identifying challenges, and keeping teams aligned on priorities and deadlines.
  • Develop and edit high-quality communications materials, including media pitches, press releases, briefing documents, and client presentations.
  • Support junior team members through collaboration, guidance, and feedback while contributing to an inclusive and supportive team environment.

Basic Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience in earned media relations, including proactive pitching, journalist outreach, and securing media coverage.
  • Experience supporting consumer brands, with a background in consumer packaged goods (CPG), food & beverage, or personal care considered a plus.
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to confidently manage day-to-day client interactions.
  • Experience working in a PR or communications agency environment, although candidates with relevant in-house experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and proactively identify solutions.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an understanding of consumer, lifestyle, and cultural media.
  • Experience supporting integrated communications campaigns, product launches, or brand activations.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership, contribute ideas, and work effectively across teams.
