Ruder Finn's Brand Experience practice is looking for a media relations powerhouse to join our team as Senior Account Supervisor helping to lead earned media strategy for a portfolio of consumer brands across parenting, food, wellness, and lifestyle. This isn't a role for someone who simply manages coverage, it's for someone who engineers it. You'll be bringing relentless pitching energy, deep reporter relationships, and a genuine love of turning ideas into headlines and brand moments into momentum

Key Responsibilities
Lead earned media strategy for your portfolio, developing angles, driving pitches, and delivering coverage that actually moves the needle for clients
Serve as the daily client contact and strategic lead, acting as a trusted partner who brings answers, not just updates
Pitch constantly and confidently to journalists, producers, editors, podcasters, Substack authors, and bloggers, and coach your team to do the same
Develop creative story angles and pivot quickly when the news cycle shifts, always finding a fresh way in
Build and nurture a robust network of media contacts across consumer lifestyle, parenting, food, wellness, and broadcast verticals
Bring a solutions-oriented mindset to every task—turning challenges into breakthroughs, spotting opportunity where others see friction, and pushing earned campaigns forward no matter the obstacle
Manage, mentor, and develop junior team members, sharing media instincts and helping them nurture media relationships
Contribute meaningfully to new business by bringing ideas, instincts, and a strong pitch mentality to growth opportunities
Collaborate with internal creative, strategy, and account teams to ensure media efforts ladder up to the bigger brand story
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field preferred
You have 5+ years of experience in consumer media relations and a track record of placements you're genuinely proud of
You're tapped into trends, communities, and cultural moments before they hit the mainstream, turning emerging stories into timely, ownable angles
You've personally dreamed up pitches or stunts that others hadn't yet considered, and you've got the results to back it up
You're known as a media relations savant, armed with a thick Rolodex and eager to pass on your knack for networking to others
You instinctively know how to make a story sing by tapping into what makes something truly shareworthy
You're organizationally strong you plan, delegate, and prioritize effectively so nothing slips through the cracks
You're scrappy and nimble, thriving in fast-moving environments where priorities shift and you pivot without missing a beat

The anticipated salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $95,000 – $120,000. The salary of the applicant selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, relevant years of experience, skills, abilities of the selected applicant, and other job-related qualifications.
