Edelman is looking for a Senior Account Supervisor to join our Brand Team in New York, working in the [CPG] space with a high focus on consumer and business media relations across both national and local outlets, influencer engagement, integrated creative concepting, digital integration (social, paid, analytics), project management, and collaboration with other Edelman specialties such as crisis communications and employee experience 

 

The ideal candidate is highly proficient and enthusiastic about integrated strategy They will be a collaborative leader, strong writer, trend spotter and creative brainstormer who isn’t afraid to ask questions, share ideas/opinions, and pushback when needed.  

 

This person should have past agency experience managing clients and teams, overseeing budgets and staffing, collaborating across disciplines/geographies, and be comfortable with tight timelines. They are flexible, organized, detail-oriented, and motivated by learning new things.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

A Senior Account Supervisor is responsible for managing their project teams’ performance as it relates to client service and quality control. They will understand Edelman’s various processes, approaches, and capabilities and will be able to recommend appropriate tactics to clients and lead teams on project implementation.  

 

Expected competencies include: 

  • Play a major role in driving the research, planning, and development and execution of comprehensive public relations campaigns, working with Edelman’s specialists as part of integrated team.  

  • Serve as daily client contact and as client lead when appropriate.  

  • Serve as inter-agency lead contact, working with other agencies on behalf of client, when appropriate. 

  • Oversee quality and operational performance of accounts, ensuring work quality and deadline adherence.  

  • Demonstrate proficiency in writing skills to craft internal and client correspondence, communications plans, press materials, new business proposals, etc.  

  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving outreach plans, message development, management of events, coordination of media familiarization trips, effective pitching, and training of spokespersons on speeches and presentations and growth of contact network.  

  • Oversee junior staff’s work products to ensure quality and consistency.  

  • Help mentor, coach and support team members and ensure you and your staff are constantly developing abilities through Edelman University and other training, including on-the-job training and mentoring.  

  • Build network of industry clients and participate in relevant professional organizations and networking activities that will grow Edelman brand recognition and your own reputation.  

  • Contribute to new business process, including identifying new business opportunities.  

  • Participate in cross-practice and cross-geographical teams to provide clients and prospects with the most compelling team and proposal.  

  • Manage day-to-day client budget issues to resolution. Manage process of developing client scope of work document, with support from finance and project management.

  • Live “in color” – and encourage staff to do so – by exploring and being active in the world outside of work, including the arts, culture, politics, literature, charitable organizations and/or other personal passions.  

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • At least six years of relevant experience in public relations and/or advertising. 

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Proven ability to manage large projects as well as small teams on one or more sizable accounts.  

  • A comprehensive understanding of your clients’ businesses and their missions, as well as their key stakeholders (consumers, employees, investors, regulators, media, vendors, partners, and other businesses/organizations, etc.) and ability to impart this knowledge to account team members.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to delegate tactical assignments and accurately judge and edit the work of others.  

  • The ability to work with senior staff to develop and execute communications plans based on client goals.  

  • Familiar with best practice communications tactics and public relations tools and will be able to recommend them to their clients.  

  • The ability to act as a daily client contact and to be responsible for client-related finance management, including managing large projects within budget. 

 

  

$80,000 - $115,000 per year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
