Job Description

Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, Independent Film Company, Sundance TV and We TV; and film distribution labels Independent Film Company and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business.

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team based in our New York, NY office. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of journal entries in conformity with US GAAP and Company policy 
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyze P&L accounts
  • Review disbursements to ensure proper coding and adherence to Company policy
  • Prepare monthly roll forwards 
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting schedules
  • Coordinate preparation of requested data for internal and external auditors
  • Research accounting issues as requested
  • Assist in various other accounting related projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred & Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA and Masters preferred 
  • Minimum 2-3 years accounting experience 
  • Effective time management skills; self-starter who works quickly and accurately 
  • Ability to work well and excel under tight deadlines and periods of high volume 
  • Strong analytical skills with a desire and curiosity to understand and own a process 
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable learning new systems

The base compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 commensurate with experience.
