This role requires deep operational expertise, a strategic mindset, and a hands-on approach to building scalable financial systems. You’ll oversee everything from client billing setup and revenue recognition to monthly close, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations—playing a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions.

  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success to ensure accurate contract set-up and billing.
  • Establish and improve processes for invoicing, collections, revenue tracking, and cost allocations.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, revenue, AR, and deferred revenue.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Support internal and external audits, compliance reporting, and tax filings.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting systems and tools.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on financial operations, reporting, and planning initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 3+ years in a managerial or senior-level role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial reporting.
  • Experience in SaaS or subscription-based businesses highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build and scale accounting operations in a fast-growing company.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Stripe, Ramp, Aleph, or similar) and billing platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, startup environments with cross-functional collaboration.
