What you will do:

The Senior Analyst, ALM & Treasury supports analysis, modeling, and reporting related to interest rate risk, liquidity risk, capital planning, net interest margin, balance sheet trends, and CECL oversight. The role prepares recurring analyses, reviews results for accuracy, identifies notable trends, and communicates findings to ALM management and internal stakeholders.

The Senior Analyst, ALM & Treasury adheres to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position, including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations, such as OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act, Fair Lending and Information Security.

A day in your life might include:

ALM Modeling and Analysis

  • Run Net Interest Income (NII) sensitivity and Net Economic Value (NEV) simulations using approved assumptions and procedures and summarize significant changes for review.
  • Assist with updating and documenting behavioral assumptions, including deposit decay rates, surge deposit behavior, and loan prepayment speeds.
  • Prepare liquidity stress testing, cash-flow analysis, and contingency funding reports; identify and escalate exceptions.
  • Prepare funds transfer pricing, profitability, and balance sheet analyses for management review.
  • Monitor net interest margin, balance sheet trends, market conditions, and forecast variances, and provide supporting analysis as requested.

Reporting and Process Support

  • Prepare recurring ALM reports and maintain supporting data, files, and documentation.
  • Review source data, model inputs, reconciliations, and outputs for completeness and accuracy; report identified issues to management.
  • Assist with updates to workflows, controls, templates, and procedures.
  • Provide analytical and technical support to team members and business partners as needed.

Treasury Operations, Investments and Collateral

  • Support treasury operations through daily cash positioning, cash forecasting, funding analysis, liquidity monitoring, and recommendations for short-term borrowing or investment actions.
  • Complete transaction settlement activities, including verification, confirmations, settlement instructions, documentation, reconciliation, and timely resolution of settlement exceptions.
  • Support investment purchases and sales through trade coordination, recordkeeping, related controls, and validation of investment income, premium and discount amortization, and principal and interest cash flows.
  • Manage collateral pledging activities by monitoring pledged assets, maintaining required documentation, and ensuring sufficient collateral coverage in accordance with applicable agreements and requirements.

Governance and Compliance Support

  • Prepare ALCO materials, management reports, dashboards, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for review.
  • Maintain assigned model documentation, procedures, control evidence, and business continuity materials.
  • Work with Finance, Accounting, Lending, Deposits, Risk, Internal Audit, Regulatory Affairs, and Technology to gather information and resolve routine data or reporting questions.
  • Follow approved policies, limits, controls, and reporting standards, and escalate identified exceptions.
  • Assist with audit and examination requests by compiling documentation, schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Stay informed of relevant regulatory, market, and balance sheet developments and share pertinent information with ALM management.
  • Enterprise reporting capabilities.

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with ALM models and scenario analyses for product, funding, and balance sheet initiatives.
  • Support testing and evaluation of ALM tools, methodologies, and external advisory services.

What we need from you:

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced degree, professional certification, or specialized training in treasury, risk management, analytics, or financial modeling is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of progressive experience in Treasury or ALM at a bank or credit union treasury.
  • Experience producing or supporting interest rate risk, liquidity risk, capital planning, forecasting, or balance sheet reporting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet dynamics, fixed income concepts, funding strategies, deposit behavior, loan prepayment behavior, and macroeconomic drivers.
  • Hands-on experience with ALM modeling software (e.g., QRM, Empyrean), financial reporting tools is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required; practical experience with all Microsoft Office Suite tools is preferred.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of SECU’s culture, core values, mission and strategic priorities as it relates to one’s work and overall performance.

  • Maintains professionalism in communication, behavior, and representation of SECU.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education. Please Note: We typically hire at or below mid-point, which is $115,100 for this role.

  • Salary: Min. $88,500 – Max. $141,700
