Navan is pioneering a new category of travel application that leverages artificial intelligence and large language models to transform how people plan, book, and experience travel.
We're seeking a Senior Android Engineer who can help us solve the complex technical challenges of bringing sophisticated AI capabilities to Android devices through elegant and intuitive interfaces.
This role requires not just Android expertise, but a passion for pushing the boundaries of what's possible when combining AI with thoughtful mobile UX.
You'll be at the forefront of developing new interaction patterns that make powerful AI capabilities feel natural, responsive, and indispensable to travelers.
What Will You Do:
· Design and implement the technical architecture for integrating LLMs and AI services into our Android application
· Create reusable components for conversational interfaces and AI-driven experiences
· Develop innovative UX patterns that simplify complex AI interactions for everyday Android users
· Build context-aware features that intelligently adapt to user preferences and behaviors
· Collaborate with AI engineers to develop effective mobile-optimized prompting strategies
What We're Looking For:
· 5+ years of extensive experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin
· Track record of successfully launching innovative mobile features
· Strong understanding of Material Design principles and UX design for AI and conversational interfaces
· Knowledge of performance optimization techniques across the diverse Android device ecosystem
· Passion for solving novel technical challenges and creating new user experience paradigms
· Excellent problem-solving abilities and comfort working with emerging technologies
· Understanding of performance considerations when working with AI across different Android devices
