Our challenge

The Senior Apptio/TBM Specialist will develop and deliver complex software requirements to accomplish business goals. Key requirements of the role include ensuring that the software is built to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City, NJ / New York, NY is $110k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment and optimization of ApptioOne, Cloudability, and Targetprocess tools to enhance IT financial transparency.
  • Develop advanced cost models, drive cost-saving initiatives, and improve chargeback and show back processes.
  • Oversee complex data integration projects using SQL, ETL, and APIs to ensure high-quality, accurate data for reporting.
  • Provide strategic insights through detailed analysis of financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across IT and Finance to define requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards related to IT financial management.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in TBM tools and methodologies to recommend improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience n IT financial management, cost modelling, and financial analysis.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with ApptioOne, Cloudability, Targetprocess, or similar TBM (Technology Business Management) tools.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and API integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant certifications such as TBMA (Technology Business Management Certification) or related industry credentials are a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and managing TBM tools in a large organizational environment.
  • Proven experience in data integration and automation to support financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of providing actionable insights.
  • Experience working with both technical teams (data engineers, developers) and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cloud financial management and cloud cost optimization is desirable.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience and desire to work in an Agile process (pair programming, daily stand-ups, etc.)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of problem domain in which they have been working
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion to learn new technology.
  • Relevant industry (banking middle/back office/Finance)
