The Role

Teneo Studio is Teneo’s internal global creative team that provides premium and innovative creative services designed to help CEOs and their leaders address complex business challenges and opportunities. Our goal is to help companies move forward by defining, crafting, and executing great ideas that bring their story to life. Being located across Teneo offices in multiple geographies and time zones allows us to be agile, responsive and deliver against briefs at the speed of culture.


We are looking for a New York City-based Senior Art Director (SAD) who has the creative muscle and experience to lead the studio design team in producing compelling work on behalf of our global clients. The ideal candidate is a design authority who can impart expertise with clarity and confidence. They are a design leader who inspire others, excel at creative thinking, and are empowered to take design risks and be fearless in bringing their authentic self to work. This role requires a seasoned design veteran with exceptional skills in creative strategy, creative thinking, a keen eye for great design, and strong presentation and communication skills. The role also requires the Senior Art Director to work hybrid on-site at Teneo’s global headquarters in New York City.


Types of client engagements include branding and visual identity, corporate reports (sustainability, annual, proxies, etc.), websites, campaigns, presentations, and large-scale events (Investor Days).

Responsibilities
  • Lead as well as execute select B2B projects from start to finish
  • Work with the Creative Director (CD) and the rest of the design team to produce high-quality creative on all client engagements
  • Art direct and manage other designers on their work and keep projects moving forward
  • Empower designers to produce work that is strategically sound, visually compelling and flawlessly executed
  • Work within tight deadlines/fast turnarounds, be nimble and pivot as the needs of projects change
  • Support the CD and continue workflow and lead the design team in their absence
  • Engage directly with clients and work collaboratively to offer creative solutions that meet their business objectives
  • Work with fellow team members to establish priorities and deliver against day-to-day needs
  • Manage the design process and understand how that plays into larger project timelines, especially for multi-component brand outputs
  • Mentor junior studio team members by nurturing/shaping their skillset and helping them mature into stronger designers
  • Stay on top of emerging design trends and industry technologies/processes that will help the studio thrive creatively and efficiently
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years design direction and creative leadership experience
  • Agency or design studio experience as a Senior Art Director or Associate Creative Director
  • Expert in branding for B2B and B2C multi-national clients
  • Possess a strong design POV rooted in business strategy
  • An ability to work independently on a project or collaboratively as a team player and able to integrate with diverse studio teams (in NYC, London and Dublin) with varying perspectives and ideas
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as client needs and project demands require
  • Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment typical of the consulting industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workload and priorities during peak periods, including extended hours
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality service in a professional services setting where responsiveness and availability are key
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to support clients and team members during critical project phases
  • Excellent oral and written communications, and an ability to provide clear communications among all stakeholders
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Highly Proficient with MS Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and MSWord)
  • Proficient with Sketch and/or Figma
  • Portfolio required

Base Salary Range

$140,000 – $160,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).
