Who We Are

At Apartment List, we’re transforming how people rent—making it smarter, easier, and a lot less frustrating. Our platform has already matched over a 1.4 million renters with their next home, while helping properties fill units with the right residents. Backed by strong growth and a big vision, we’re building the future of renting—and inviting bold thinkers to help us shape it!
At Apartment List, we’re on a mission to find every renter a home they love at the value they deserve. Finding the right place to live is one of the most important, time-consuming and expensive decisions that all of us make. Getting it right matters. We’ve helped millions of people find a home they love, and we’re just getting started.

We're seeking a skilled Senior Associate, Paid Search Marketing to join our performance marketing team. This is a high-impact role critical to driving new customer acquisition and expanding our market presence through search channels. The right candidate will independently own and operate our paid search program, bringing both analytical rigor and business judgment to their work, proactively shaping strategy, and moving fast on opportunities. This role has real ownership and impact. You won't be handed a playbook, you'll be building one. We're looking for someone who defaults to initiative, shapes strategy rather than executes it, and is energized by seeing their work translate into real results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive new renter growth by optimizing paid search campaigns, with a primary focus on Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, continuously refining strategies to maximize ROAS
  • Identify and develop new keyword opportunities and audience segments, expanding our reach and diversifying our search acquisition mix
  • Design and execute A/B tests across ad copy and bidding strategies to improve conversion rates, user engagement, and overall campaign performance
  • Analyze search performance data to uncover growth opportunities, proactively surface trends and anomalies, and deliver actionable insights and recommendations to inform decision-making at all levels.
  • Develop and present recommendations showcasing progress, results, and strategic initiatives to leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Work cross-functionally with brand, analytics, product, and engineering teams to align paid search efforts with overall business goals and leverage technical capabilities
  • Own and be accountable for key performance metrics related to user acquisition, cost per acquisition, click-through rates, and overall search marketing efficiency
  • Develop clear, insightful reports that translate complex search performance data into actionable recommendations for stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with paid search platform updates, algorithm changes, and industry best practices
  • Contribute to the development of our overall performance marketing playbook, sharing paid search best practices and learnings across the team to elevate our collective performance

Data-Driven Mindset

  • Comfortable working with performance data and using it to guide campaign optimization decisions
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills specific to paid search metrics
  • Ability to identify relevant KPIs for different search campaigns and initiatives
  • Naturally curious and proactive about using data. Spots trends, asks questions, and brings observations forward rather than waiting for problems to surface.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in performance marketing with at least 2+ years focused on paid search/SEM
  • Proven track record managing Google Ads and Microsoft Ads campaigns end-to-end. Owning outcomes, driving tests, and delivering results with genuine accountability for the program.
  • Strong understanding of the search marketing funnel and proficiency in tracking and analyzing relevant metrics at each stage
  • Experience in developing and scaling new search campaigns and keyword strategies
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking
  • Familiarity with other search platforms (Apple Search Ads)
  • Experience with automated bidding strategies and machine learning optimization
  • Familiarity with the real estate tech, marketplace, or tech industry
