Role: Senior Associate - Relationship Management & Business Development
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office)

About the RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Associate to join our lean, fast-paced, high-impact Growth team. You’ll play a pivotal role in Ethic’s next phase of growth—driving new relationships, accelerating our sales pipeline, and helping expand our presence across the RIA and institutional consultant landscape.
This role is perfect for a results-driven, entrepreneurial professional who thrives in dynamic environments and wants to make a real mark in the fintech and wealth management ecosystem. This role will report directly to the Director of Relationship Management.
What you’ll do:
As a Senior Associate on the Growth team at Ethic you will develop and cultivate strong relationships with financial advisors and investment teams at independent RIAs and network-style wealth management firms to partner in delivering Ethic solutions.
More specifically you will:
- Drive New Growth: Generate high-quality introductions and relationships across the RIA, private wealth, and institutional consultant channels. Proactively surface and develop opportunities from advisors at the firms we work with through a deep understanding of their goals and needs, accelerating the adoption of our offering and securing new, high-value engagements to drive asset and ultimately revenue growth.
- Own the Pipeline: Partner closely with the Head of Business Development to manage the full sales funnel—from outreach and initial meetings to signed client agreements.
- Expand Ethic’s Reach: Increase the volume and quality of new opportunities through proactive prospecting, creative sourcing, and conference engagement.
- Drive Organizational Excellence: Oversee and optimize client documentation processes, including agreements, context documentation, and Salesforce, to ensure robust data integrity and enable superior cross-team collaboration. Collaborate with our Client Success, Build, and Investments teams to ensure an exceptional and consistent client experience across all touchpoints, proactively addressing complex client needs and driving client loyalty.
- Stay in Motion: Represent Ethic at industry conferences and events (~monthly), and bring back actionable insights to refine our approach. Synthesize and action industry learnings and client feedback to critically inform our product and investment roadmaps, and champion internal understanding of evolving market needs.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- 4–6 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within wealth management, fintech, or asset management.
- Wealth Management Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the wealth management industry landscape, including how various RIAs are structured and how to strategically position Ethic's solutions for maximum impact and adoption.
- Proactivity & Initiative: Demonstrated leadership in anticipating client and market needs, independently driving client initiatives, and consistently seeking out significant value-add opportunities for the firm.
- Exceptional Communication (Written and Verbal): The ability to articulate relevant financial concepts with clarity and persuasiveness to investment teams and advisors; highly effective negotiation and presentation skills.
- Financial Acumen & Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of direct indexing, portfolio management, and financial markets..
- Interpersonal Skills & Relationship Building: A highly developed aptitude for building and nurturing deep, strategic relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, both externally and internally, fostering long-term partnerships.
- Active Listening: Advanced capacity to deeply understand and interpret complex client needs, unspoken concerns, and strategic objectives, leading to proactive and tailored solutions.
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to diagnose complex client and business challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, and develop innovative, impactful solutions.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify strategic trends, understand client portfolios, and interpret the broader implications of market movements for client strategy.
- Salesforce Proficiency: Experience in leveraging Salesforce for strategic client management, pipeline forecasting, and generating actionable insights for business development.
- Organizational Skills & Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives, and strategically prioritize workload.

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation at Ethic is a combination of base salary, equity (stock options) in the company, and benefits.
The base salary for this role will range from $110,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
In addition, this position is eligible for variable compensation tied to predetermined goals and key results.
