We are seeking a Senior Business and Systems Architect with deep domain expertise in the Facilities, Real Estate, and Workplace Experience areas to lead enterprise-level transformations in the Arlington, VA area.
This position will influence technology architecture and design decisions that support solutions used in the Enterprise Services division. Enterprise Services consists of Indirect Supply Chain, Executive Flight Operations, and Global Real Estate & Facilities. You will partner closely with all aspects of the organization's executive and senior management teams within Enterprise Services.

In this role you will operate at the intersection of business strategy/needs and complex technology landscapes. As a trusted advisor you will define target-state architectures, translate workplace strategy into pragmatic solutions, and support delivery across service request intake, planning, design and construction, and modern operations. This is an individual contributor role that will enable teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical designs, identify solutions, and partner with stakeholders for successful delivery and adoption.
This role requires strong stakeholder management with facilities, real estate, finance, legal and IT, plus hands-on knowledge of related platforms, integrations, and automation approaches.
You will use your influence and leadership to engage and coordinate with teams located across the global portfolio with support to numerous sites in multiple countries, provinces, and cities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills. It will require infrequent travel to visit stakeholders at other sites as business needs require.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the primary architect and senior consultant for technology transformations that are led by multiple portfolio managers and solution owners, governance: standards, design reviews, architecture decision records, identifies, quantifies, and manages architectural risks; proposes mitigation strategies and trade-off recommendations
  • Builds and maintains business capability/architecture documentation, solution selection criteria, and both individual and integrated technology roadmaps for Enterprise Services Technology
  • Identifies and delivers data-driven insights through multiple data sources to drive operational efficiencies that improve service delivery, overall workplace experience, and operational cost factors
  • Leads architecture and program delivery for building automation systems (BAS), OT/IT convergence, and centralized facility monitoring and operations capabilities, including integration with CMMS, FDD, and enterprise platforms
  • Works with solution teams during discovery, design and implementation to ensure: alignment to the architecture strategy, traceability (from business requirements to technical design, build, testing and adoption), resolution of risks and issues, and mentorship of solution teams
  • Leads external stakeholder engagement (supplier summits, industry groups, technology partnerships) to inform and harmonize both operational technology and corporate technology transformation efforts with industry trends
  • Understands and influences: technology and design decisions, realized business outcomes: e.g. enabled value, cycle time and touch time, process optimization, compliance and/or security improvements, integration strategy between internal platforms, data warehouses, and third-party systems, data models (master data), process documentation and reconciliation between systems of record, automation strategy
  • Identifies, charters, and executes workplace experience improvements, enabled through technology offerings, that elevate the day-in-the-life experience of Boeing teammates and stakeholders. Conducts stakeholder workshops with functional stakeholders to align process re-design and technology capabilities and validate target-state process maps and RACI

  • Establish and manage a program structure for the enterprise digital asset visibility tool rollout, driving all in-scope locations to operational status against a defined schedule, with regular cost, schedule, risk, and issue reporting
  • Examine opportunities to maximize the operational value of the toolset across the Boeing enterprise
  • Approved target-state workplace experiences solution architecture and implementation roadmap aligned to Boeing and GREF strategy
  • Reusable architecture artifacts, playbooks, and accelerators which are adopted across projects

  • Successful delivery of solutions, reduced rework during implementation

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 10+ years of experience leading and implementing Workplace Strategy programs at an enterprise or site level as an end-user, service-provider, or consultant
  • 10+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide information technology products in product management, project management, development and/or architecture
  • 10+ years of experience in Real Estate, Facilities Operations and/or Facilities Management
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, leadership, consulting, and/or project management
  • 10+ years of experience with stakeholders to develop technology strategies and roadmaps
  • 10+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders (i.e. customers, suppliers, peers and/or partners)
  • 10+ years of experience with the computerized Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • 10+ years of experience with schedule and process management, integration of all logistics elements, customer communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and technical baseline requirements are met
  • 10+ years of experience do you have with Operational Technology
  • Willing & able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, IT, or related field
  • Experience in consulting firms or leading enterprise procurement, workplace, and facilities transformations
  • Experience in industries with complex supply chains or regulatory needs (manufacturing, aviation, healthcare, defense, government)
  • Experience with master data management (MDM) and significant automation architectures and implementations
  • Experience deploying smart building, IoT, digital twin, or AI-enabled analytics platforms at enterprise scale
  • Recognized contributions to industry research and thought leadership (e.g., MIT Center for Real Estate, Realcomm, CoreNet Global)
