About the role

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing items within assigned categories to support company goals and maximize profitability. This role works closely with supply chain, vendors, and internal teams to develop programs, analyze performance, and ensure the right products are available at the right time.


What you’ll do

Procurement & Buying Execution

  • Issue and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and alignment with the budget
  • Resolve fulfillment issues directly with vendor contacts
  • Maintain item master data, regularly reviewing SKU status for NPI, EOL, and obsolescence actions, and ensuring accuracy of product hierarchy

Sourcing

  • Support the Identification, evaluation, and onboarding of new suppliers through structured RFQ/RFP processes, including bid analysis and supplier scorecards
  • Support contract negotiations with vendors to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply risk

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations and Finance to track procurement spend, support budget forecasting, and identify variance drivers
  • Collaborate with Product and Operations teams to align sourcing decisions with business priorities

About you

  • 5-8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
  • Must have hardware or hard goods experience
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Good grasp of tactical procurement concepts and proven background in data-driven purchasing 
  • Proven experience managing supplier relationships, running RFQ/RFP processes, and negotiating contracts
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and procurement tools

Location: Hybrid, NYC

Salary: $75,000 - $140,000
