We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Senior Commercial Real Estate, and CMBS Researcher. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial real estate research and a deep understanding of commercial mortgage-backed securities. As the Senior Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our research initiatives and providing valuable insights to our clients.  This role will work very closely with our product, sales, and technology teams.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on commercial real estate markets, identifying emerging trends, potential risks, and investment opportunities. Stay abreast of industry developments and assess their impact on the CMBS market
  • CMBS Review and Evaluation: Evaluate and analyze commercial mortgage-backed securities, assessing credit risks, market trends, and overall performance. Understand CMBS models and methodologies for effective CMBS valuation
  • Client Interaction: Engage with prospects and clients to understand their investment goals, communicate research findings, and provide expert insights. Collaborate with internal teams to tailor research reports and recommendations to meet client needs
  • Thought Leadership: Stay at the forefront of industry advancements and contribute to the firm's thought leadership initiatives. Publish articles, whitepapers, and daily market commentaries to maintain Trepp as a leader in the commercial real estate, lending/risk and CMBS research space
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage advanced technologies and proprietary data analytics tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of research processes

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial real estate research, with a focus on CMBS analysis, underwriting, along with an understanding of risk metrics
  • Educational Background: bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related field. Advanced degree or certification (MBA, CFA, etc.) preferred
  • Strong leadership and the ability to work across multiple teams
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
    • In-depth understanding of financial markets, real estate valuation, lending & CMBS structures
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Proven ability to deliver high-quality research reports within tight deadlines

 

Salary Range:

 

  • Base salary starting from $150k plus bonus eligible
