Job Responsibilities

• Compiles, investigates and examines public and tax records to determine liabilities and legal condition of the title and insurability of primarily commercial or industrial property title
• Prepares accurate and comprehensive title commitments in accordance with company examining and policy procedures
• Works closely with the Centralized team on completing Title Reports
• Understands how own team integrates with related teams to accomplish objectives
• Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team through own work
• Recognizes and solves atypical problems that occur infrequently
• Evaluates and selects solutions from existing precedents or procedures
• Communicates and explains complex information, including interdependencies within the team and others
• Works under limited supervision and may use discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results or improve efficiency
• Individual contributor acting as a resource for less experienced team members; does not have supervisory responsibilities
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management

Education

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s preferred

Experience

• Proven experience as a Commercial Title Examiner (Reader) with extensive NY market knowledge.
• Ability to read detailed title searches using advanced research techniques and legal resources specific to all of New York state.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external clients effectively.
• Typically requires 5+ years of related work experience

Pay Range & Benefits

The base salary range provided is consistent with similar roles at the Company. The base salary range is not an absolute, but a guide, and actual offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, education, experience, location, market conditions, and other compensation components. Depending upon all of the preceding considerations, the base salary may be lower or higher than the stated range.
