At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
Netflix is seeking an experienced content designer to work on Ads.
The Role
At Netflix, we aspire to entertain the world and are constantly innovating on how entertainment is imagined, created, and delivered to a global audience. We currently stream content in more than 30 languages in 190 countries, topping over 320 million paid members.
Netflix’s Ad-Supported tier offers our members more choice in how they consume their content. Our newest tier allows us to attract members at a lower price point, while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach audiences that are deeply immersed.
To help us deliver this experience, we’re looking for a highly ambitious and experienced Senior Content Designer who will help shape Netflix’s ads consumer experiences. This includes innovating on new ad formats tailored to our wide variety of content and experiences, evolving our existing ad canvases, and implementing ad privacy and policy experiences that members can trust.
You will partner closely with other designers working across our various member experience teams to ensure ads are clear, engaging, and additive to the overall Netflix experience.
This will be a remote-friendly role, with the freedom to set a flexible work-from-home schedule. This role would be best for candidates located in California or in the Pacific time zone, as monthly in-person travel will be required to collaborate with stakeholders and partners in Los Angeles, CA and Los Gatos, CA. That said, we can make exceptions in location for the right candidate.
About Our Team
Our team designs the consumer-facing ads experiences for Netflix. These experiences span the entire Netflix product and empower our advertisers and sponsors to reach our members. We maintain the highest bar for the overall Netflix experience and execute strategically to make the Netflix ads business successful. We also design the foundational features that make the ads plan different from our other plans, helping our users maintain control, transparency, and trust over their advertising experience.
Our team’s primary superpower is the ability to design creatively, collaboratively, and quickly in highly complex environments, balancing the needs of our members and our advertisers through rigorous testing, empathy, and expertise.
You’ll be one of the lead designers who crafts these experiences and shapes the future of advertising across our product. More specifically, you’ll be a critical part of one of the most talented and trailblazing advertising design teams in the world.
About You
As an ads consumer content designer, you’ll help set and elevate the Content Design vision and strategy; implement crystal-clear UX; define terms; codify styles and patterns; and craft UI copy for a global audience. You’re a strong fit if:
You treat Content Design as a UX discipline, thinking in flows, states, and interactions—not just words.
You’re a systems thinker who builds and maintains information architecture, language frameworks, and content patterns that scale.
You craft cohesive narratives across product touchpoints so experiences feel clear, trustworthy, and on‑brand.
You operate as a product thinker, prioritizing the highest‑impact work and making explicit tradeoffs with Product, Design, and Engineering partners.
You drive cross‑functional alignment, resolving competing perspectives into a simple, intuitive member experience.
You work productively with visual and technical thinkers, presenting clear rationale and inviting candid, actionable feedback.
You show deep empathy for advertisers and members, using data and insight to uncover better, more immersive ad experiences.
You connect dots across teams and workstreams, creating the structure needed to move complex or ambiguous efforts forward.
You’re a generous, accountable, and humble teammate who amplifies and builds upon others’ work.
Qualifications
8+ years of relevant experience: UX writing, content design/content strategy, technical writing, taxonomy, IA.
A portfolio that shows end‑to‑end product thinking from problem framing through UX/content strategy, IA, and final UI copy for consumer experiences.
Mastery of AP style and the judgment to adapt or break rules when it improves clarity or UX.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize business requirements, user research, and data into clear, outcome‑driven UI content.
Proven strength in mapping and improving user journeys and content flows across multiple surfaces.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and traverse altitudes from strategic visioning to tactical execution.
Highly collaborative, organized and self-directed, able to effectively prioritize and respond accordingly to the shifting needs of the team.
Even Better
Direct experience working with advertisers, agencies, or on consumer advertising experiences.
Experience at a startup or in a startup-like environment where high agency, bias to action, and quick decision-making are musts.
Deep understanding of user experience fundamentals, especially applied to multiple device modalities like CTV, mobile, and web.
