As a contract Senior Content Designer / UX Writer, you will own the content strategy and execution for our product ecosystem.
You will define and champion a scalable and sustainable approach to solve complex language and communication challenges, often with limited precedent. You will develop and evangelize a long-term content and UX writing strategy for your team, influencing adjacent design efforts and offering alternative perspectives grounded in user needs and business objectives.
You will be a subject matter expert in UX writing principles, content strategy methodologies, voice and tone guidelines, and content testing. Collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and engineers, you will deliver work such as: analyzing user needs and content gaps, defining content models and information architecture, establishing and evolving voice and tone, crafting clear and concise UI text, and contributing to the design system.
You have a proven ability to shape product experiences through effective content and possess the depth of knowledge and experience to assess and communicate the appropriateness, clarity, and scalability of content solutions.
What You'll Do
  • Content Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute content strategies that align with user needs and business goals for assigned product areas.
  • UX Writing Craft: Craft clear, concise, and user-centered UI text, including labels, buttons, error messages, tooltips, and onboarding flows.
  • Voice & Tone: Define, maintain, and advocate for a consistent voice and tone across all product touchpoints and connected to brand and marketing related efforts.
  • Content Modeling & Information Architecture: Structure and organize content effectively to ensure clarity and findability.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with product designers, product managers, engineers, and researchers throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Content Systems: Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems-oriented content guidelines, patterns, and documentation within the design system.
  • Advocacy & Education: Evangelize the value and excellence standards of content design and UX writing across the organization.
  • Content Testing & Optimization: Participate in user research and testing to evaluate content effectiveness and provide iterate based on data and research findings.
  • Strategic Thinking: Apply a strategic mindset to complex communication challenges, translating business requirements, and user insights into effective content solutions.
  • Influence: Influence cross-functional teams on content decisions, advocate for user-centered content practices, and bridge product and marketing language.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as English, Journalism, Communications, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, content design, or a related field, preferably within a product-driven environment.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing strategic content solutions and exceptional UX writing skills across a variety of digital products.
  • Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to translate complex concepts into clear and concise language.
  • Experience developing and applying voice and tone guidelines.
  • Familiarity with content modeling and information architecture principles.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and advocate for content decisions.
  • Experience working within design systems and contributing to content guidelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive, self-starter attitude.

Bonus Points:
  • Experience with the financial technology (fintech) industry, legaltech industry, or SaaS products.
  • Experience facilitating content workshops and applying Design Thinking principles.
  • Familiarity with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
  • Understanding of usability and accessibility best practices for content.
  • Experience working in AI/automation.
  • Experience working in product-led growth.
